DISCUSSION On April 1, 2016, City of Flagstaff implemented a new municipal services billing software program, which included a revised monthly statement. Though the revised statement had a contemporary appearance, it lacked complete 13 month consumptions graphs, causing some confusion on charges. Based on feedback from the public, staff has developed a new statement. It is designed to contain critical data elements requested by the public, essential for water conservation, promote sustainability, and for ease of comprehension as well as provide the consumption graphs. Customers also will now can pay in cash at alternative locations, utilizing PayNearMe. Currently, cash payments are accepted at City Hall only during business hours. Over the next months, the attached “How to Read Your New Flagstaff Monthly Municipal Services Statement” will be inserted into the monthly statements for customers to begin to familiarize themselves with the new bill. This information will also be posted on the City website, as well as distributed throughout social media. RECOMMENDATION / CONCLUSION This report is for information only.
