This addendum is comprised of:

1. Pre-Bid Sign in Sheet (Attached)

2. Pre-Bid Meeting Agenda

3. Question and Answers

The following questions were asked and answered:

Question: Can you clarify who owns winter conditions, this has become a legal issue on many

projects. Enclosures and heat can only be calculated accurately if a schedule is provided and

maintained in order to alleviate unnecessary costs being assumed by all file sub bid trades that

need enclosures and heat. Due to unknown scheduling for the subcontractors work, what is the

interpretation of the design team in regards to the winter condition requirements for this

project? Is each filed sub-bidder responsible to enclose work areas and provide heat for them or

will the General Contractor that coordinates all work be responsible for the costs associated

with enclosures and heat?

Answer: Heat is to be provided by the General Contractor in accordance with

section 5.7.1 of the General Terms and Conditions (00800), 5.22.11 of the General

Terms and Conditions (00800), and specification section 011000–General

Requirements.

Question: If the file sub-bid contractors are responsible for enclosures or heat, how would you

assume the appropriate funds for this work if no detailed schedule is provided at bid time?

Answer: Heat is to be provided by the General Contractor in accordance with section 5.7.1 of

the General Terms and Conditions (00800), 5.22.11 of the General Terms and Conditions

(00800), and specification section 011000–General Requirements.

awarded contractor will be reviewed by the architect and owner.

Question: Wood Surfaces Existing

Using these methods above will eliminate some of the costly containment’s in such a small and

awarded contractor will be reviewed by the architect and owner.

Question: Detail 5/A5.00 notes a two stage sealant at all window and door units which is

normally provided by Section 079200. Please confirm that Section 079200 is responsible to

provide sealant and backer rod at all steel windows and steel door units both exterior and

interior.

Answer: Yes, but not including glazing as per section 088000.

Question: It was mentioned at the walkthrough that the tunnel for the Red Line is below that of

the Out of News Kisok. Therefore, could you please confirm the existing slab thickness and if

there are any structural weight limitations if equipment were to be used.

Answer: The thickness of the existing concrete roof/beam of the MBTA Harvard Station varies
