Boones Ferry Culvert Replacement Project

Bids Due: November 14, 2019 by 2:00 P.M. This addendum provides changes to the plans and specifications for the above-entitled project to be considered by each bidder. This addendum shall be included in the bid and, when closing the contract, will be a part thereof. Any changes made by this addendum to said plans and specifications offset only the portion of the plans, words or paragraphs specifically mentioned herein, and the balance of the plans and/or specifications remain in full force. It is the responsibility of all bidders to conform to this addendum.

Discussion Points.

Project Scope/Overview: Replace the Boones Ferry Culvert on Tryon Creek with a 140 ft by 56 ft steel girder bridge to increase capacity and provide fish passage. The project will include channel enhancement work to control the grade of the creek and protect streambanks and will protect an exposed 18-inch sewer line crossing the creek approximately 145 feet upstream of the culvert. In addition to limiting fish passage, the pipe is also in need of repair and it does not convey water consistent with BES stormwater design manual standards.

Key Highlights: Schedule:

• Tree Removal is only permitted between Feb 1 - July 31 per spec 00290.36 (c)

• In water work is only permitted between July 15- Sep 30 per spec 00290.34 (a)

• Girder procurement has long lead time and must be accounted for in Schedule

• Review Traffic Control Requirements for Notice/PCMS boards in spec 00220.40(h)(1)

• Portland Water Bureau coordination is required. See spec 01140.47 for reference.

Other: • Draft Utility plans are attached for reference. Northwest

Natural (NWN) and PGE should be done relocating prior to construction

• Noise Variance is under review for extended work hours due to in water work.
