CITY OF THE FUTURE
-
my views are heavily influenced by science fiction, dystopia and cyberpunk ideas
and therefore may not sound very optimistic
-
1.CITIES TODAY
-
SYDNEY
-
MOSCOW
-
MADRID
-
SINGAPORE
-
these cities are different with one of a kind architecture, unique population and culture
but there is one important aspect, that is the same: air
-
air gives us the feeling of freedom visit the nearest park and make a deep breath raise your head and youll always see the sky
-
2. CHANGES
-
nowadays humanity is facing many threats
-
population is growing rapidly
-
global warming melts the ice and water takes away land
-
mankind is polluting wast territories, making them uninhabitable
-
pretty encouraging, isn't it? here are just two examples of what
humanity already achieved
-
HONG KONG
-
TOKYO
-
raise your head and youll see nothing street noise follows you everywhere
fresh air is a dream living becomes a challenge
-
3. FUTURE
-
future technology level will allow humankind to build overpopulated cities a second floor: horizontal wall between two worlds
-
lower cityshelter for the working class
nightlife heaven with threatening crime rates no sunbeam for years
atmosphere tastes like sewers
-
upper citybasically, a blend of Manhattan and Silicon Valley,
example of perfect balance between nature and human all flavoured with the latest technologies
-
striking difference what is it?
a return to medieval estates order?
-
here is how complete city looks like
-
complete city looks like that
-
beautiful outside full of human vice inside
-
4. NOT SO APPEALING?
-
to prevent this worst case scenario we should follow a few simple steps
-
respect nature develop eco-consciousness since school compensate the damage to environment
-
develop negative attitude to consumerism concept (hard one) encourage companies to invest in sustainable development
-
these steps will probably help to preserve the nature and therefore bypass the need of the citys second floor
-
because, seriously, who would like to live in a city like that?
-
