Short lived pollutants – black carbon, methane, and tropospheric ozone – make melting worse in the Arctic in a variety of ways, science suggests.  

By limiting production of these pollutants, especially in Arctic nations, we could have a more immediate impact and “buy time” for the Arctic, whose melting has a potential impact that is profound.
