Serve in Kids AliveIt’s that time again! We are getting ready for a wonderful school year in Kids Alive and we need your help! Opportunities are available in Sunday School, nursery and children’s church. All current and future volunteers are asked to attend an orientation on Sunday, August 9, from 11:30am-12:30pm. This is an incredible opportunity to invest in the next generation of Clairmont. Even if you have no experience teaching, there’s a place for you!

If you’re interested in serving this fall, complete the form on the Service Opportunities page at clairmontpres.org or contact Kay Carr.

Clairmont Clothes ClosetWe are in need of clean, in style clothing for adults and children. These donations go to Mission Haven in Decatur for missionaries and seminary students. All adult clothing should be on hangers. Workable toys, linens, and luggage are also accepted.

Learn more about service opportunities online at clairmontpres.org, keyword “serve.”

A Note from Toco Hills Community AllianceIn May, THCA began offering help with utility bills for the zip codes 30033, 30324, 30329, 30341 and 30345. Rental assistance will be offered on a limited basis. We no longer provide Marta cards.

We were able to resume these services because of generous donations from Clairmont and from a number of individual donors. Thank you for working with us to reach out to our brothers and sisters in need.

We currently offer a maximum gift of $150 annually. We hope to see an increase in donations so that this amount can be increased as well.

If you are interested in volunteering at THCA, contact Mary-Louise Wilson at [email protected]

LaAmistad After School Program for StudentsSeptember 8 marks the beginning of our partnership with LaAmistad to provide after school tutoring for Latino students from Briar Vista Elementary. LaAmistad assists Latino students to strengthen their academic and life skills through a devotional time, homework time, and immerse them in activities to enhance their English literacy. This will take place Tuesday/Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5pm in Milligan Hall. No previous Spanish or tutoring experience is necessary. Learn more and sign up to serve on the Service Opportunities page at clairmontpres.org.

Azalea Village MinistryOur most recent workday on June 13 was a huge success. Thank you to all who participated! A dozen people worked on yards, inventoried furniture, and strategized immediate, short term, and long term project lists.

10 Year Anniversary | September 27We are also excited to celebrate our 10 year anniversary with a cookout on the Azalea Village Lawn on September 27 after worship. Join us for this time to connect with the agencies we work with, to connect with past and current residents of Azalea Village.

If you’re interested in learning more about our ministry to displaced families and refugees, contact Jeff VanderLaan at [email protected].

My Dear Clairmont Family,I have shared twenty amazing years being your faithful servant. The joys and blessings I’ve received from you are beyond words I could ever express. I cannot thank you enough for celebrating with me on my retirement. The blessings you bestowed on me require more than just a simple “thank you.” I wish I could write each and every one of you who graced me with your presence, your special words, and anonymous gifts to acknowledge my twenty years at Clairmont. My heart is overwhelmed and humbled with such love for you. God bless you all.

With great fondness,Linda Massey

Thanks to Mary Anna Brooks, Tom Brooks, Earl Finley, Nancy Finley, Norman Jaros and Kay Schoepke for being Usher/Greeters at the Memorial Service for Jean Bendslev Teare on May 22, 2015. THANKS to Gayle Turner for serving at the Reception Desk during the Memorial Service.

Thanks to the following named individuals who helped with the Reception for Linda Massey on May 17. They are: Tom and Mary Anna Brooks, Barbara Dillon, Norman Jaros,
