begin today, 10/20 @ 12:30 and will be held every Tuesday until Thanksgiving Break. Education and Student Advisory Council leaders for our next Student Voice Panel. This Special Board Meeting will feature a student-led
panel discussion with students from Clark Magnet, Crescenta Valley, Daily, Glendale, and Hoover High Schools. Zoom

Senior Athletes Only – Heisman High School Scholarship may be for you! Both boys and girls are eligible to apply: Have you been an
athlete in grades 9 -11? Do you have a GPA of 3.0 or above? Have you participated in volunteer service, community involvement or

Seniors – this is big $$ - Elks National Foundation – Most Valuable Student Scholarship - Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership,
and financial need. Eligibility: Current high school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States (on the date their application is submitted; permanent legal resident status does not qualify). Applicants do not need to be related to a member of the Elks. Deadline to apply is November 15, 2020 online:
https://www.elks.org/scholars/scholarships/mvs.cfm. The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2021
competition. Male and female students compete separately. Awards Range from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for
students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. All scholarships are in the form of
certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university. The Chicago office of the Elks National Foundation will announce the 500 national winners in late April, 2021. The 20 Top Finalists traditionally participate in an all-expenses paid Leadership Weekend in
Chicago during which they’ll interview with the national judges. These 20 Finalists will be vying for two first-place awards of $50,000; two second-place awards of
$40,000; and two third-place awards of $30,000. The remaining 14 finalists will receive awards of $20,000. The 480 runners-up will receive fifth-place scholarships of $4,000. ALL GRADES CAN APPLY - Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Voice of Democracy Scholarship - Established in 1947, our Voice of Democracy audio-essay
program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. The
national first place winner receives a $30,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school. A complete
list of other national scholarships range from $1,000-$16,000, and the first place winner from each VFW Department (state) wins a minimum scholarship of $1,000
and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. Want to apply? Read the rules and eligibility requirements, and download the 2020-21 entry form
application, as all student entries must be submitted to a sponsoring local VFW Post by midnight, Oct. 31 – APPLY EARLY!
