Prologue:

*plays the song “Love Story” by Taylor Swift*

*lights turn on

* music fades in background*

Narrator. In Verona Town Middle, where this story takes place, not everything was at peace. Two families, the Montagues (Light flashes on group of Montagues) and the Capulets (light flashes on group of Capulets), both had a strong hate for each other. Expulsion and transferring disrupted the streets. The most beloved children from each side had accidentally fallen for each other. The massive crush was shunned at school. The two sides were so unfair towards the children that it led to tragic events. Watch and listen to see this story in detail. Lights go on each side.

*all lights turn on* Lockers in background.

*music turns up again until first scene set up is ready--- music stops*

Sammy.  We will NOT let ‘em make us look like fools! For real, we won’t take that garbage.

Gregory: *pfft* of course not, than we’d actually BE fools!

Sammy. Though, if they do mess with us then something's going to go down, ‘cause I won’t stand for it.

Gregory. Dude, you shouldn’t go looking around for trouble like that.

Sammy. I can’t help it when I get angry.

Gregory. But, you usually stay calm.

Sammy. I know, I know, but one of those Montague boys makes me want to throw patience out a window.

Gregory.  So, angry to the point where you’ll run away, or get angry enough to stay and fight it out.

Sampson.  More the second one.  I will most definitely fight.  Heck, I’ll walk on the opposite side of the lockers just to stay away from them.

(Center Stage: Right) Corey and Zachary I, and Coltor. enter (Montagues).

Gregory.  *whispers   to Sampson* Look, some Montague boys. Come to fight so soon?

Sampson. Ready when you are. I got your back Gregory.

Gregory. Ha! Got my back? Dude, there’s a difference of backing me up and running away.

Sampson. Whatever, just don’t worry about me.

Gregory. Well, seeing as how we’re all about to fight, I AM worried about you.

Sampson. You know what? Let them make the first move. I don’t feel like getting expelled, today.

Gregory. No matter what they think, all they deserve is a scowl and that’s it.

Page 3: clarkscornerstone.pbworks.comclarkscornerstone.pbworks.com/w/file/fetch/107231589/R…  · Web view’ (stretches out the word) Mercutio: You’re a dancer. ... Dire Straits plays

Sammy. Don’t you mean how they decide to react?  What they really need is the cold shoulder and nothing else, from anyone.

Abram. Hey!  Capulets are you making faces at us?

Sampson. Confused little boy *smiles smugly* I’M trying to ignore you.

Abram. *glances at Gregory scowling* Seriously, are you making faces at us?

Sampson. *whispers to Gregory* do you think we’ll be sent to the office if I say yes?

Gregory. *whispers back to Sampson* probably not.

Sampson. We are not scowling at YOU but, we are scowling.

Gregory. You asking for a fight right now?

Abram. Am I trying to- What? Of course not!

Sammy: Seriously, if you want to fight I’m right here. My punches hurt just as much as yours.

Abram. No one’s punches hurt as much as mine.

Sampson. Oh, do they?

Benvolio enters (Center Stage: right)

Gregory. *whispers to Sampson* Here comes “back up”.

Sampson. *whispers back to Gregory* Very funny, but they are gonna’ need it.

Abram. Liar.

Sammy. Put up your fists. Do you remember how to punch, Gregory?

They Fight.

Benvolio. C’mon guys! Quit it!  Before the teachers see.

Tybalt enters (Down Stage: Left)

Tybalt. Fighting without me?  Really guys?  Your worthless fist fit I guess. Hey, Benvolio! Get ready to feel some real pain.

Benvolio.  Dude, I’m only here to try and calm the situation down.  In any case, you should help me try to STOP this fight.

Tybalt. So, you come to a brawl, yet you want to stop it? Quit whining and put some fists up!  Unless, you don’t know how.

Benvolio and Tybalt Fight. Sound effects.

More students come to watch.

Sammy. You call this a fight? GO GO GO!

Page 4: clarkscornerstone.pbworks.comclarkscornerstone.pbworks.com/w/file/fetch/107231589/R…  · Web view’ (stretches out the word) Mercutio: You’re a dancer. ... Dire Straits plays

Mr. Capulet enters with Mrs. Capulet, Mr and Mrs. Montague also enter.

Mr. Capulet. What’s all this fighting about? Break it up! Break it up! We happen to be here for a meeting, and this happens too!

Mrs. Capulet. We have better things to do than break up fights at a middle school! This behavior is unacceptable!

Principle Escalus enters with school staff.

Principle Escalus.  You all are being irrational! This is the third fight between the Capulets and Montagues this school year alone! *everyone stops and turns towards the principle* Verona Town Middle and the rest of its students and staff would like to survive a year without either of your families disruptions.  Now, Capulets, Montagues, and students, go about your OWN business or else you’ll be seeing me in detention, or worse...Expelled.  As for you, Mr. Capulet come with me, and, we will speak AGAIN in my office.

Everyone exits except Mr./Mrs. Capulet and Mr./Mrs. Montague and Benvolio.

Montague Who started the fight? Please tell me.  Were you here when it started?

Benvolio. Well, some of the Montagues and Capulet boys had started fighting before I came to the scene. My plan was to split everyone up, but Tybalt came and made matters worse, as usual.  He started taunting me and so we began our own little fight.  After a few minutes, a crowd began to form, then the Principal came and started to lecture all of us.

Mrs. Montague. By the way, have you seen Romeo today? Though, I am glad he wasn’t here when the fight broke out.

Benvolio. Oh, since I was out this morning with a lot of things on my mind, I went for a walk.  I spotted him also on an early-morning walk, but he saw me coming and disappeared into a grove of Sycamore trees just outside of school.  Seeing him reminded me of what I was feeling that morning so I respected that he wanted to be alone and kept to myself.

Mr. Montague. He’s been crying his eyes out and seeming besides himself, lately.  But as soon as sunrise comes, the poor boy comes home to escape being seen in daylight.  After that, he locks himself in his room, shutting out all sunlight.

Benvolio. Uncle, do you know why he is acting like this?

Mr. Montague. No, I don’t.  I also don’t know if he’ll let me find out what’s wrong.

Benvolio. So have you tried to find out what’s up?

Mr. Montague. Yes, I have, so have many others, but he still decides to block us out and keep to himself.

Romeo Enters.

Benvolio. Look, I see him now *points in Romeo’s direction.*  You stay here and I’ll figure out what’s wrong with him unless he denies my help.

Montague. Thank you, Benvolio.  It makes me happy to know that Romeo has people who care about him, like you.  Let’s go honey, we still need to go get dinner.

Page 5: clarkscornerstone.pbworks.comclarkscornerstone.pbworks.com/w/file/fetch/107231589/R…  · Web view’ (stretches out the word) Mercutio: You’re a dancer. ... Dire Straits plays

Mr. Montague and Mrs. Montague exit.

Benvolio. Mornin’ Romeo?

Romeo. It’s still morning?

Benvolio. Well, it did just turn nine dude.

Romeo. Oh, I guess being sad takes up time slowly.  By the way, was that my dad who just left?

Benvolio. Yes, and can you tell me why you’re so sad?  It’s very unlike you.

Romeo. For some reason love seems to hate me.

Benvolio. Wait, you’re in love?

Romeo. No.

Benvolio. So you’re not in love? Dude, you’re going to have to explain ‘cause I’m confused.

Romeo. It’s very simple I love someone, but she doesn’t love me. Get it cousin?

Benvolio. I’m going to go philosophical on you and say; love seems likes a kind-hearted feeling but in some unfortunate cases it’s a rough, callous thing we humans experience.

Romeo. I know Dude it’s crazy.  Love is a feeling, yet it makes us do whatever it wants!  I mean seriously.  Anyways, I’m hungry.  Where do you want to eat? Oh, * looks at cheek to and sees Benvolio’s bruises* was there a fight?  Wait, never mind, I already know.  Love, hate, sadness.  You know, we are affected by it all?   It burns us, makes us regret, and then makes us do it all over again!  I need to think on it more.  Bye.

Benvolio. Hold up dude.  If you leave then you’re going to owe me.

Romeo. I just don’t feel like myself right now. This isn’t me.

Benvolio. Can you just tell me who you’re in love with or out of love uuggh! You know what I mean.

Romeo. You really want me to tell you?

Benvolio. Now you sound pained just to speak.  Yes, I want you to tell me!

Romeo. Dude, I’ve really gotten myself love sick so, please don’t take this as a pre-k crush.

Benvolio. I know, I know, I’m being serious.

Romeo.  Man, she’s so beautiful.

Benvolio. Well, a beautiful girl is one who gets talked with the most.

Romeo. But that’s where you’re wrong dude, she doesn’t fall for any of that.  She’s clever enough to steer clear of that.  Clever enough not to fall in love.

Benvolio. You mean she’s never going to fall in love?

Romeo.  She’s her own company.  I swear the best independent worker I’ve seen.  The way she holds herself up, no strings attached.  In anyone’s eyes, she doesn’t need a significant other.

Page 6: clarkscornerstone.pbworks.comclarkscornerstone.pbworks.com/w/file/fetch/107231589/R…  · Web view’ (stretches out the word) Mercutio: You’re a dancer. ... Dire Straits plays

Benvolio. Man, you have to stop thinking of her.

Romeo. How do I do that?

Benvolio. Duh! There are plenty of other girls at school for you to talk to!

Romeo. Don’t you see that that’s just going to make it worse because her beauty is uncomparable to all the other girls.

Benvolio. Fine.  I will teach you how to forget then.  If I fail, I owe you the biggest favor out of all favors. Your choice.  Anything you want!

Romeo. Anything?

Benvolio. YES!

Romeo. You have to wear a Justin Bieber shirt for an entire week!

Benvolio. Okay, you have a girl to forget.  Onward on our quest! (part of a Justin Bieber song plays).

They Exit. Lights off. Woods scene. Capulet enters with paper--with Paris and Page.

(Capulet) Montague has made a deal just like I have he’s under the same penalty. I think it won’t be hard for us to keep the peace.

(Paris)  You both have an honorable reputation; it’s a shame you two have been enemies for so long. But what do you say to my request?

(Capulet) I can only say what I’ve said before. My daughter is still very young. I am having a difficult time giving you permission, but you are a kind lad.

My permission is only part of her decision. If she agrees to see you, I will allow it. Tonight is the night of the annual middle school dance. Everyone in the school is invited; I am chaperoning. (goes to Page and hands him the paper). (Paris and Capulet exit) (Benvolio and Romeo enter)

BENVOLIO. Romeo! Gosh you’re crazy! *slaps his head*

ROMEO. I’m not crazy… but I am locked up tight. I’m tortured and have no freedom-----

Hey Page. (Takes list away from him.s

ROMEO. (Reads list out loud) What is this list for?

PAGE. It’s a flier about the middle school dance. You should go! Page exits.

BENVOLIO. You know who’s gonna be at the dance?!

BENVOLIO & ROMEO (in sync). Rosaline!

ROMEO. The most beautiful flower I know. *gawks at the thought* At that party? I must go!

BENVOLIO.  Yeah, she’s cute, but at that party, so are many others. She will look ugly compared to the rest. *Romeo rolls his eyes*

ROMEO. I’ll go, but not to prove you wrong, but to see the girl of my dreams.

Page 7: clarkscornerstone.pbworks.comclarkscornerstone.pbworks.com/w/file/fetch/107231589/R…  · Web view’ (stretches out the word) Mercutio: You’re a dancer. ... Dire Straits plays

All exit stage. Lights turn off. (Setting: Juliet’s Bedroom)

Lady Capulet and the Nina enter from left stage Lights turn back on for the next scene.

Lady Capulet: Nina, where’s my daughter?  Tell her to come here.

Nina: I swear, I’ve already asked her to come here.  Where is she? What is she doing?

Juliet peaks her head through door prop on left stage.

Juliet: What...? Who’s calling me?

Nina: Your mother.

Juliet enters from left stage

Juliet: Mom, I’m here. What do you need?

Lady Capulet: I’ll tell you what I need.   Nina, step outside for a second. We need to talk alone – actually... Nina, come back. I know we can trust you with our secrets. My daughter trusts you. We have to discuss the dance.  Juliet, what is your opinion on the dance?

Juliet:  Actually, I don’t think about it that much.

Lady Capulet: Well, a polite young man asked for your hand to the dance. You are familiar with Paris?

Nina: Oooh Paris! Isn’t that the one in your English class?

Lady Capulet: Your father and I have decided to let you go, if you wish. You’ll see him at the dance tonight!

Nina: Exciting!

Lady Capulet: Will you be nice to him?

Juliet ‘ughs’ and sighs to herself

Juliet: Yes. She says begrudgingly.

Lady Capulet: Let’s go now, Juliet. We need to go shopping for a dress!

Nina: I heard that Bell’s is having a sale!

Juliet slips her shoes on in the background They all exit. (Lights dim)

(Setting: outside of the dance) (Lights go on)

ROMEO, MERCUTIO, and BENVOLIO enter along with five or six other people

Romeo: What should we say when we enter? Or should we not say anything?

Benvolio: It’s not cool to plan it out like that.

Romeo: I feel too sad to dance.

Mercutio: But Romeo, you have to dance! I heard they are going to play One Direction. Yes!

Page 8: clarkscornerstone.pbworks.comclarkscornerstone.pbworks.com/w/file/fetch/107231589/R…  · Web view’ (stretches out the word) Mercutio: You’re a dancer. ... Dire Straits plays

Mercutio does a little dance to try to cheer Romeo up

Romeo: But I don’t wanna dance...

Romeo pronounces dance like ‘daance’ (stretches out the word)

Mercutio: You’re a dancer. Go in there and dance like there’s no tomorrow!

Romeo:  I am still too sad to dance...

Mercutio: It’s not right if you don’t.  You should be having fun.

Romeo: The fun’s not worth the pain of breaking up. Romeo pouts

Mercutio: Just go dance and talk with some other girls.  It’ll help take your mind off things.

Benvolio: Come on, let’s go in and start dancing! (music plays: 1 Direction)

Romeo: It looks like a lot of fun, but I’ll pass.

Mercutio: Hey, you’re being a party pooper.  Stop wasting our precious dance time.

Romeo:  We have good intentions, but it’s not a good idea to go to this dance.

Mercutio: Why not?

Romeo:  I had a dream last night. (dream music plays)

Mercutio: So did I. Sarcastically

Romeo: What was yours?

Mercutio: That dreamers often lie.

Romeo: They lie in bed while dreaming about the truth.

Mercutio: Oh, I see. So you’ve been dreaming about Queen Mab?

Benvolio: Who’s Queen Mab?

Mercutio:  Queen Mab of the fairies, who brings dreams to us.

Romeo: That’s nonsense. You are so weird!

Mercutio: True!

Benvolio: We’re getting sidetracked.  Dinner is over, and we’re going to be too late! Dream music stops.

Romeo:  I have a bad feeling tonight will lead to my expulsion, but it’s in the hand of fate.  Lead on! (One Direction plays in background).

They exit. Scene change to the dance. (lights off)

Juliet is dancing with Paris and looking miserable. Paris is ecstatic and dancing the Carlton dance.

Romeo and Mercutio and enter. He sees Juliet.

Page 9: clarkscornerstone.pbworks.comclarkscornerstone.pbworks.com/w/file/fetch/107231589/R…  · Web view’ (stretches out the word) Mercutio: You’re a dancer. ... Dire Straits plays

Romeo: To Mercutio-Who is that?

Mercutio: I’m not sure. It’s a big school. Mercutio joins the crown and starts dancing crazily.

Romeo stares at Juliet, their eyes meet (while Paris is oblivious and still dancing). Romeo sneaks up to her, grabs her hand, then pulls her away. Paris continues to dance with his eyes closed.

Romeo: You seem cool. I would love to hang out during recess sometime.

Juliet: She blushes and seems embarrassed. Sure, I would like that.

Romeo: I would totally give up playing Minecraft to hang out with you.

Juliet: Me too! And I love Minecraft.

Romeo: I think we are meant to be.

Tybalt comes between them. Tybal ‘s music plays.

Tybalt: Get away from her you biscuit head! I know you are a Montague!

Juliet gasps. Mercutio comes and pulls Romeo off stage. Juliet watches:

Juliet: My only crush sprung by my only hate. She sighs. Lights go off.

Dire straits Romeo and Juliet plays. (lights off) INTERMISSION Romeo enters on mom’s bike; Juliet enters balcony (bedroom/balcony backdrop)

Romeo-I had to come see her. I will throw rocks at her window if I have to. (Juliet is at her house, Romeo sees her on the balcony.) Juliet does not see him. She plays with her hair, etc.Juliet is shining as bright as gold, and it’s hurting my eyes!I’m silver, not as bright but we are meant to be, I’m so jealous. Juliet is so pretty, prettier than anything in the world!I wish Juliet knew how much I like her, it would make me so happy. (He is talking to himself).Juliet- Finally sees Romeo. Oh My Gosh! I didn’t even know you were down there Romeo. Are you talking about me, if so, I’m speechless?Romeo- Girl, you are all that and a bag of chips. If you know what I mean? You are so gorgeous, you shine above me all day. Not literally!Juliet- Why do you have to be Romeo? You’re so nice and… I’m something!Forget about class and let’s ditch it. Do you like me?If you do like me we should ditch class. Romeo- Should I ditch class? For you, I would.Juliet- Only I’m the enemy.Romeo- I don’t know who I am! I hate myself for not knowing.Oh wait, aren’t I Romeo! Your beauty makes me confused.Juliet- Why haven’t I recognized you? You’re Romeo, haven’t I seen you at school?Romeo- This is a strange occurrence. I’m not sure how our paths have not crossed.Juliet- how did you get here?Romeo- I road my mom’s bike.Juliet- If both of our parents see us we will both be punished. Then I wouldn’t be able to see you anymore.

Page 10: clarkscornerstone.pbworks.comclarkscornerstone.pbworks.com/w/file/fetch/107231589/R…  · Web view’ (stretches out the word) Mercutio: You’re a dancer. ... Dire Straits plays

Romeo- It would be worse than eating mom’s pancakes. It tastes like baking soda mixed with couch lint. Maybe if I do get in trouble, I could be honest.Juliet- If my parents or your parents see you, I will tell them it was my fault. You’re too nice to get in trouble. I can’t let that ruin your reputation.Romeo- You know I’m good at hiding. I’d rather have them punish me then not see you!Juliet- Now you know where I live. Because of that, you can come and visit me again. I didn’t like it until you told me how much you like me.Romeo- I am sounding a bit creepy. Wait that didn’t come out right. I’m truly sorry.Juliet- If you saw me closely, I would be blushing, and very happy. Please say yes! If you did truly like me you would say yes. I really like you handsome boy.Romeo- I swear I say yes Juliet, yes.Juliet- Don’t swear, people change. Don’t change at least don’t change for me.Romeo- You’re the apple of my eye. Could I have a hug, please!Juliet- to be nice I will let you hug me.Nina (Nina calls from inside the house off stage) JULIET!You hear them from inside.Juliet: I’m coming. Romeo- Was this a dream? Nope it’s real!Juliet- Romeo you are so pleasant, now we shall hang out.Nina- Juliet, come!Juliet- (to Nina) I’m coming! (to Romeo) bye Romeo.Nina- JULIET!Romeo hugs Juliet and he runs away happily. (They Exit) Lights turn off. Scene change-classroom or lockers.(Spins earth globe as saying the passage)Mr. Lawrence- There is nothing on earth that is evil that it does not provide the earth with some special quality. There that does not turn bad if it's put to the wrong order.

Romeo- Counselor, the school wants me to be kicked out because Tybalt and I have been feuding all year.Mr. Lawrence- I don't understand

Romeo - I have acted up in school, and my parents expect that I will get expelled, but it really is all that bully, Tybalt’s fault.

Mr. Lawrence - I am sorry Romeo. Why do you come to speak with me?

Romeo- I can't leave the girl I have a crush on, Juliet.

Mr. Lawrence- the only thing I know, Romeo, is to stay in touch with her.

Romeo- ok.(Romeo walks out of the room slowly and sad and yells, oh Juliet I will miss you!) Then has a realization and turns around.

Romeo – Wait, Mr. Lawrence you’re the school counselor, can't you help me?Mr. Lawrence -in this situation I can't help as much.

Romeo- Can't you tell the school to not expel me.

Mr. Lawrence- The school would not listen to me, Romeo.

Page 11: clarkscornerstone.pbworks.comclarkscornerstone.pbworks.com/w/file/fetch/107231589/R…  · Web view’ (stretches out the word) Mercutio: You’re a dancer. ... Dire Straits plays

Romeo - why?

Mr. Lawrence- because it not my choice to expel people from the school, and if it were my choice, you would stay. It's the principal’s job to decide whether kids leave or not.

Romeo - But there is nothing you can do? Like talk with the principal and ask if Romeo Montague can stay at this school?

Mr. Lawrence- I will try to do everything I can do to keep you closer to Juliet, but don't get your hopesup. (Principal walks in) What nice timing. Now Romeo, will you excuse me while I talk to the principal?

Romeo – ok, Mr. Lawrence. (Romeo exits)

Principal- Mr. Lawrence, why did you need me?

Mr Lawrence- I need to talk to you about the behavior of Romeo Montague.

Principal- oh goodness.

Mr Lawrence- Why is Romeo being suspended?

Principal- He keeps on getting into fights with all those rowdy Capulet boys. He is going to get himself expelled.

Mr. Lawrence: I am here to vouch for him. Perhaps if he befriends some Capulets, these feuds can be erased. Please give him another chance!

Principal: We will see. I will think about it.

Lights off, music, Scene Change House and Outside

Juliet to Nina: Go find Romeo, and ask him where we shall secretly meet. Juliet exits and Romeo enters.

Nina: Romeo, my friend Juliet is curious about what we should do next? You are under strict supervision at school, and she does not know how she will see you. There is so much drama with Tybalt that scares her.

Romeo: Tybalt needs to stay away from me!Nina: He has a good heart, but his mind is so far off track.

Romeo: What are you going to tell her, Nina? I am out of ideas.

Nina: You can meet at the park tomorrow afternoon, behind the sycamore trees, of course.

ROMEO: Yay! I will meet Juliet joyfully and in secret. By the way, what does she think of me?

Nina: Why she thinks you are the cat’s meow, of course. She seems to like you a lot more than Paris.

Lights off, music New Scene Capulet house Chair on stage for Nina to sit down in.

JULIETIt was nine when I sent Nina away. She promised to return in half an hour.Maybe she didn’t find him. No, that’s not it.Ugh, she’s so slow! It’s been three Long hours, and she still isn’t back yet.Now it’s time to come back to me(Nina ENTERS)Oh goodness, she’s here! Nina, what’s the news?Did you find him? Nina, why do you look so sad? Why the sour face?Nina:h I’m tired, give me rest.JULIETNina, tell me what’s up?Nina: God, so quick! Can’t you wait a minute?Don’t you see that I am out of breath?JULIETIf you’re out of breath, why do you have enoughBreathe to say to me that you’re out of breath? The excuse that you made in this delayIs longer than the story that you’re using an excuse not to say.Is the news good, or bad? Answer that!Say either, and I'll wait for the details!Let me be satisfied: is it good or bad?Nina: Well, you’ve made a simple choice! You knowHow to choose a date. Romeo has style!JULIETNo, no. But all this I knew before. What does he say about meeting?Nina: He asked where you mother was?JULIET Where is my mother? What an odd thing to say. You are joking; what did he really say?NINA:He said that he will meet you tomorrow at the park. You can ride your bike and sneak away!Lights out, scene change, trees, Dire Straits. At the Park:Romeo rides his bike to Juliet. Juliet is standing behind a tree with her bike. Dire Straits plays (Love struck Romeo) A short montage takes place (love scene) They laugh, and get out Minecraft on their computers, and play together. They laugh quietly and fake talk while the music plays. They jokingly hit each other happily. When music stops, Romeo says--Romeo: I don’t want to leave, but my parents will suspect something soon. Juliet: It’s so hard to say goodbye!Lights out music continues scene change to school. Benvolio and Mercutio enter.

Benvolio: C’mon Mercutio, let’s go home. It’s so hot today and there are Capulets everywhere, if we run into ‘em we’ll certainly start a fight, people are more hot headed and easily provoked when it’s hotter out.Mercutio: Dude, do you just not ever want to fight, like no matter what, but sometimes you get mad at someone for no reason at all.Benvolio: Am I really like that?Mercutio: Hey c’mon, you get so angry sometimes. Someone will make you a little mad and you’ll blow up. And when you’re in the mood to get angry, you find something to get angry at.Benvolio: And what’s wrong with that?

Page 13: clarkscornerstone.pbworks.comclarkscornerstone.pbworks.com/w/file/fetch/107231589/R…  · Web view’ (stretches out the word) Mercutio: You’re a dancer. ... Dire Straits plays

Mercutio: If there were two people like you, pretty soon there’d be none ‘cause you’d kill each other. You’d fight someone who got a point higher than you on a test or a point lower. Only you would get into dumb fights.Benvolio: Well at least I stick up for something unlike you.Mercutio: Hey we’re talking about you not me!      (Tybalt and extras enter)Benvolio: Oh great, this is perfect…Mercutio: I don’t even care…Tybalt: (to other Capulets) follow me, I’ll talk to ‘em, (to Montagues Zach I.) You’re in big trouble!

And she brings news!Every time she mentions Romeo’s name it sounds beautiful. Now, Nina, what’s the news today? Is that the rope ladder Romeo told you to pick up? Juliet – What’s the bad news? You look sad.Nina – Yes, but I have bad news. Oh, it’s a sad day! He’s gone! I can’t believe it! He’s gone!Juliet –What?Nina – Romeo is trouble, not good. Poor Tybalt!Juliet – Romeo and Tybalt both ran away!Nina – Tybalt has been expelled! Juliet: Stop, you are such school boys!

Romeo: Juliet, I thought you ran away. You were the talk of the hallway. I am so confused.

Paris: I have no words.

Juliet. You didn’t get the email? Nina was supposed to send it to you. I just faked running away so we could then run away together.

Romeo. Am I insane? or am I confused? or was I dreaming? It still doesn’t make total sense, but in this modern context, I accept that it never will.

Juliet, don’t wait here and wonder. The security guard is coming. Come on, we have to go now. I don’t want to stay here any longer. Then go, get out of here, I’m not going anywhere.

Everyone is coming to the school.        Principal: What is the crime that everyone is talking about?        Chief security guard: Principal, here is the missing Juliet, and Romeo and Paris.

Principal Investigate how this all came about.        Chief security guard: They’ve got tools on them, tools that could be used to break in here.        Capulet: Oh heavens! Look wife at how are young Juliet is kept here by these security guards.        Lady Capulet: Oh my! This is an awful sight of the security guards here with these kids.                    (Montague enters)        Principal: Come in, Montague. Your son is in major trouble. .                Principal: Come and see.        Montague: Oh, you undisciplined boy! Where are your manners? What you did was not right.Principal: Nina, I have a feeling you know what has transpired. (center stage right)Nina. I will be quick because I am not going to live a long enough life to tell such a boring story! Romeo, who has now been expelled, was the boyfriend of Juliet. And she, the one who faked running away was Romeo's faithful girlfriend. I was there; they were official the day Tybalt got expelled. When Tybalt got in trouble, Romeo got suspended. Juliet was sad because Romeo was not allowed to come back to school for the rest of the year. Then she came to me and, looking wild, asked me to work out a plan to get her out of this second relationship with Paris. So, I gave her a good place to hide for a while so she would miss the time when she and Paris were supposed to date. Then I began rumors at the school.  It worked as planned. She seemed to everyone, including Paris, to have moved away or run away from home.  In the meantime, I sent an email to Romeo telling him about the plan, but it appears that my tech skills are not up to par, and the email was never sent.Principal: Why did Romeo come back to the school? This is no excuse for breaking in.Nina: Romeo thought that Juliet ran away. He was troubled but this that he came to the school to ram the hallways and think of happy memories. Paris followed Romeo here and that is when they fought. BALTHASAR (center stage left-props: the letter) (center stage left-props: the letter) Capulet! Montague!  Do you see what a great sadness results from your hate?  All because a feud between families flared up. Everyone is punish--ed.(enter from stage right)Montague to Capulet: Our silly feud has caused nothing but trouble. It is time for us to make peace. They shake. Music peace train?
