Simple present tense:-

Introduction:- word tense comes from Latin tempus, means time.

Therefore a verb that refers to past time is said to be in the past tense.

The verb that refers to present time is said to be in the present tense,

And the verb that refers to future time is said to b in the future tense.

Therefore tense is that form of verb which shows the time and state of an

action or event.

There are three kind of tenses ,each of which has four different types that

shows the time and the state of an action.

Let us study about simple present tense:-

It is a type of present tense and is used :-

1. To express a habitual action. ;as

He drinks tea every morning.

2. To express general truth; as

The sun rises in the east.

3. In exclamatory sentences beginning with here and there to express what

is actually taking place in the present time;as

Here comes the bus!

There she goes!

4. To express the a future event that is a part of a fixed programme. ;

The train leaves at 5.20.

How a sentence of simple present tense is formed .

This is the method used in formation a sentence in simple present tense.

Subject+ first form of verb + object.,;as

You(subject)+(verb)write+(object) a letter.

If the subject is third person singular ,then sor es is used with first form of

verb. ,;as

He writes a letter.
