Summer Before Senior Year
• College Visits• Scheduled or self directed / Getting the ‘feel’ of the
campus• Set up Common App Account• Naviance-Senior Information Survey• Register for SATs or ACTs (Subject Tests if needed)• Finalize Essay• Finalize College List – 4-6 Colleges
Fall 2015• Meet with Counselor

Responsibilities- Who Does What

• Student: • Application and fee*• Essay• Resume (where applicable)• Test scores through Collegeboard• Pink sheet returned to Guidance 2 weeks prior to deadline • ***FERPA release between CommonApp and Naviance ***
College Application Process• Students• Update Naviance Account• Complete Senior Information Survey• Common App Account / Ferpa• Ferpa Waiver allows Guidance to send transcript and
letters of recommendation electronically and directly to the college
• NCAA is treated as a College and must be listed as a college• Apply online at NCAA clearinghouse and authorize
electronic release of transcripts
Assessing YourselfColleges will require many pieces of information to make an admission decision. We refer to this as hard data and soft data.

Deadline to register: * Check admissions Sept 22nd for Oct 3rd test requirements for the Oct 9th for Dec 7th test colleges you are Cost- $54.50 /Fee waiver considering
Standardized Testing ❖ The ACT assesses students’ ability to complete college
level work
❖ The multiple choice tests cover four skill areas: English, Mathematics, Reading and Science
❖ The writing test is optional;
❖ Fees: w/o writing $39.50 (cost w/writing is $56.50)
❖ The registration deadlines are:10/24/15- Deadline- Sept 18th 12/12/13- Deadline- Nov 6th
