What is a credit?• High school students earn a half-credit for successful
completion of each course each semester• Semester average must be 70% or better• Attendance matters- Students who fail to be in class 90% of
the time may lose credit for the course• 26 credits are required for graduation
Students must earn the following# of credits to move to the next grade level.
6 credits = Sophomore
12 credits = Junior
18 credits = Senior

What are GPA and Rank?
GPA is your personal performance in the academic race—
• All of your semester grades will be assigned a point value, added up and then averaged
• Different levels of courses receive different point values
On-Level Honors/PAP/AP
• Look in your course guide for the point values
Pre AP and AP Classes• Available in most subject areas• Pre AP courses are designed for students who show a high level of interest in and/or commitment to academic core classes.
• Prepares you for college• Earn higher GPA• May earn college credits through AP exams or Dual Credit courses
• Learn to think, read, and write critically and analytically
• Students will learn the same content as level classes but will move faster in order to go more in depth

To earn the distinguished level of achievement, students must complete:
• The FHSP• An Endorsement• Algebra 2
Students completing the distinguished level will be eligible for college admission under the Top 10% automatic admission provision

Course Changes• Students will select courses for next year with their middle & high school counselor in January 2020
• Students may request changes to their schedule up until Feb. 28th
• Course verification will be sent home in the spring by the high school counselors for final review.
Naviance
Spring of 2020, current 8th-11th graders will be selecting their 2020-2021 classes through
Naviance(formally Bridges).
Students will be able to learn about critical topics related to self-discovery, developing success skills, building a
support network, exploring career options, class options, and planning for college – academically, socially,
emotionally, and financially.
How does my student login to Naviance???
1. Visit MyHumble-Humble ISDLink: https://my.humbleisd.net
**Mobile Devices**Student Username : (the first 3 letters of your first name + the first 3 letters of your last name as it appears in the eSchool gradebook) + (last four digits of ID #@humbleisd.net
Password : Same as the student’s computer/network password.
2. Scroll till you locate Naviance
3. Select Naviance
4. The Homepage will state “Welcome ____”
5. Please explore your student’s “MyPlanner” You may also explore college and career info
and in the future the students course selections will be in this program.
