    Zero-Based

  • Determine 1st Preliminary Grade (1st PG)

    1st PG = CP (20%) + AQ (30%) + PEx (50%)

    Determine 2nd Preliminary Grade (2nd PG) and Midterm Grade (MG)

    2nd PG = CP (20%) + AQ (30%) + MEx (50%)

    MG = 1st PG (50%) + 2nd PG (50%)

    Determine Final Period (FP) and Final Grade (FG)

    FP = CP (20%) + AQ (30%) + FEx (50%)

    FG = MG (50%) + FP (50%)

    Passing Grade is 75% with an Equivalent point of 3.0

  • Determine Prelim Grade (PG)

    Prelim Grade = 2 x (Class Standing) + Prelim Exam 3

    Prelim Exam = Transmuted raw score of the exam

    Determine 2nd Prelim Grade a. Follow the procedure in determining CS from No. 1

    b. Determine Class Average (CA) = 2 x (CS) + 2nd Prelim Exam

    3

    2nd Prelim Exam = Transmuted raw score of the exam c. Determine the 2nd Prelim Grade = 2 x (CA) + PG

    COMPUTATION OF

    PERIODIC GRADES

  • Determine Class Standing (CS)

    a. Transmute every raw score earned in each criterion

    (e.g. Quizzes, Recitation, Assignment). Use the

    2003-2004 approved Transmutation Table.

    b. For each criterion, add all those transmuted scores

    and divide the sum by the number of assessments

    given. This comprises the grade for each criterion.

    c. Multiply the grade by the assigned weight

    prescribed by the Institute (e.g. 75 x 50% = 37.5)

    COMPUTATION OF

    PERIODIC GRADES

  • For computation of 2nd Prelim Grade:

    1/3 of grade taken from the 2nd Prelim Exam Grade

    2/3 of grade taken from the Class Standing (recitation, quizzes, assignments, etc.)

    100% - Tentative 2nd Prelim Grade

    2/3 from Tentative 2nd Prelim Grade

    1/3 from Prelim Grade

    100% Final 2nd Prelim Grade

    COMPUTATION OF

    PERIODIC GRADES

  • Determine Final Grade

    a. Follow the procedure in determining CS from No. 1

    b. Determine Class Average (CA) = 2 x (CS) + Final Deptl Exam

    Final Exam = Transmuted raw score of the exam

    c. Determine the Final Grade = 2 x (CA) + 2nd Prelim Grade
