C ass with color wants to take this time to thank everyone who is supporting our vision and philosophies about life. Class and elegance is not about being conservative or protective of your image, it is about showing the right parts in the right ways. We have had the pleasure of working with many faces and equally unique personalities. Our approach has led you to cultivate and celebrate the things in life that people hold most dear, the beauty of the human soul. Every

decision you make in life builds on your character and adds LAYERS to your personality. When choosing your wardrobe you are making a statement not just based on recent trends or fashion icons, you are allowing the rest of the world to preview your most inner core. You are showing them the colors that reflect your spirit, the portion of you that you are trying to hide from your own insecurities, and of course the assets and pieces of you that you are proud of. These are the reasons our company was created, to offer you the chance to select articles that will reflect your true color, your true form of class.

BeccaFavorite Movie and Show? I have a few favorite movies (which most are independent films) but, one of my ultimate favorite movies is Dorian Gray with Ben Barnes and Colin Firth. Not only are these two actors just amazing in general, but it does the book justice (which is written by Oscar Wilde), which isn’t heard of often. When it comes to TV, I’m torn between American Dad (which is my favorite daily staple) and Doctor Who. When it comes to Doctor Who, I’m a bit of a geek and this show is just... beyond awesome (time travel and aliens?! Come on!).Who inspires your fashion? I love, love the style of Lauren Conrad. I know, I know, she’s technically a “reality-star”, but she is such a style icon - girly and classic, yet casual. I strive to mimic her (with a little flair of course!). I also love Diane Kruger’s style. She’s naturally gorgeous to begin with and her style is just... impeccable on the red carpet. I also love the simple yet chic-ness of model Miranda Kerr; she does mom-chic so well! What’s your must have summer item? One word... SUNSCREEN! Oh, and my iPod. No one should have to spend a summer without their beloved music (my playlist includes artists such as N*E*R*D, Roo Panes, and Panic! at The Disco).Describe your experience working with Class With Color? I’ve worked with Class With Color about three times over the course of about a year or two and enjoyed every minute of it! Sammy is such a talented and hard working guy, I feel honored that he keeps choosing to work with me! I’m excited to see where he goes in his life, because this kid is going somewhere! Your hero? My hero is the person I strive to become everyday. What interests you about modeling or photography ? Modeling to me is like playing dress up. You get to wear things that you would never wear yourself and you get to play a part and it’s all beautifully captured on film! When it comes to photography, I think that we are so caught up in the moments of life (which is how it should be!) that when we are able to capture certain mo-ments... there’s something very beautiful about being able to do that. Advice you would give to someone starting in modeling? Take chances, don’t be shy, practice in the mirror, and study the models in the magazines... they’re paid models for a reason! Favorite place to live? Even though I love the desert weather, I cannot wait to make the biggest move of my life and move to Seattle - a place that’s rich of greenery, culture, and just awesomeness! My “dream” place to live would be in Paris. That place is just romantically beautiful and I get goosebumps just thinking about that amazing city!!Favorite holiday dish? I’m so in

love cherry pies and honey-baked hams around the holidays! If anyone has these two things around the holidays at their place... I’m there! Favorite concert? I was very lucky to have seen my favorite band, N*E*R*D in Las Vegas when I had lived there. They tore up the joint!! But, what was funny at the time is that the Black Eyed Peas opened for them, yet no one knew who N*E*R*D was. So, when the BEP’s got done with their set, a lot of people had left, which was cool because our seats got upgraded and I had such a fucking awesome time. Best family memory? I’m such a huge advocate for family. I have a large extended family - well over ten or so cousins. Some of the best memories I have is playing with them when I was younger - we would always act out our favorit movies in their huge backyard. We would then put on a play for my aunt and I swear... if I wasn’t so shy, I would probably be an actress. What drives you or inspires you? My ambition drives me! I have known from an early age what I want out of my life and I strive everyday to work hard to become that person. I won’t stop until I’m happy! Something you are looking forward to: Finishing my nursing degree, getting married and having kids! Every girl’s dream, right? Starbucks or Jamba Juice? Starbucks! I’m such a coffee fiend, I wish they could just inject it straight into my veins every morning! Also, you can never go wrong with a vanilla latte and their chocolate chip banana bread... yum! Favorite book, and last book you read? Favorite book I’ve read is Dorian Gray. It’s everything I love in a book, great characters, a dark plot and it’s just plain twisted in general. We all have a dark side to us... it’s whether or not we bring that side to light or not. Last book I read was the last book of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. If you like sci-fi and kick ass vampires that make the Twilight vampires look like pussies, then you would love the BDB series! Do you believe chivalry is dead? NO!! Chivalry is never dead. Find a man who believes the same; we deserve to be treated as a proper woman and he should think the same.Your age? Twenty-nine going on twenty-five. 3 fears, 3 turn ons, 3 turn offs ? Three of my biggest fears are snakes, the dark (for real!), and failure. Failure probably being my realest fear of them all. My turn ons are British accents, scruff, and when men have great style/hair. Style and hair are everything for a girl (well, at least THIS girl!). Turn offs: People who think they are above you, bad hair, and bad shoes. Favorite date you’ve had? I’m pretty easy to please when it comes to dating. One of my favorite dates is being at home with my loved one, downing some beer and playing video

games! But, if I had to choose the best date I’ve ever had was when my best friend met the man I’m currently dating. They got along beautifully and still do to this day. I always have nightmares where my best friends and boyfriend don’t get along! So, it was such a pleasant surprise and that made for such a wonderful night that I still think about to this day! Favorite Quote? “Treat others how you would want to be treated.” Reciprocity is huge deal for me and it will always be. We need to make the world a better place, folks! Believe in luck? I believe in luck AND hard work. You can’t really get the one without the other. Current desktop picture? It really needs to be change to be honest. Right now, I have a naked mermaid on my desktop with flowing red hair. I thought she was really beautiful and it was a well done drawing... so, there you go! I appreciate all kinds of beauty, no matter how it is portrayed. Vegan or paleo? Vegan to me would be healthier - if done correctly. I’m neither... I enjoy everything! Favorite charity? I’m a huge advocate for any and all Cancer societ-ies. Cancer is the number one killer among chil-dren and the elderly. I have seen too many of my loved ones go through this disease and there needs to be an end to it and sometime in the near future. Something you want to accomplish by your next birthday? Nursing school! I have been waiting about two years to be accepted and next January will be my next chance!! Someone you would be for a day? I would love to be my future self in ten years for a day to see what I have accomplished and what all my hard work has earned me and my family! Whats on your bucket list? Become fluent in French, move to Seattle, and get my PhD in Nursing are my top three for sure! Four things you can’t live without? My music, my computer, my boyfriend, and my Kindle! I’m an electronics kind of girl as you can tell; got to love technology! Favorite store to shop at? I love Target! They have such fashionable items at decent prices for this college girl. I also love Anthropologie (so whimsi-cal and girly!) and Michael Kors (such classic, well fitted pieces!). Health tips or fashion advice? Take chances with your wardrobe: wear that dress that you feel is outside of your comfort zone, wear that hot pink lipstick, wear heels to go out to lunch, etc. When it comes to fitness - having a partner (whether it’s a friend or a significant other) to ex-ercise with and eat with. It makes staying healthy a whole lot easier and a hell of a lot more fun. Also, invest in a food processor and juicer - they are wonderful tools to cook healthy, fresh meals!

Model Tips No matter what pose you decide to use, the outfit you decide to wear or the pout you place on your lips, the important thing to know is what the photog-rapher is looking for; what final image you are trying to create, and the emo-tion you are trying to capture. Some of the most amazing images are captured between the poses, when your body is in its natural state. Most models don’t need to concern themselves with knowing all the aspects of the craft that a photographer knows, like the lighting, focal points, and aperture readings. But the more you dive into their world and learn the ins and outs the more com-fortable you will be delivering amazing work on your end.

First thing you should always be aware of are implied lines. Knowing what you want the spectator to focus on is key. Real-izing that the shape of your arm is giving the viewer directions and unconsciously telling them where they should focus their attention. Framing your face using just your hands is the most simple and elegant way to really lure someone into your gaze. A safe move to fall back on has always been the Contraposto stance. Often times you will see old Greek sculptures created in this stance. All you have to do is place all your weight on one leg and bow your hip out a little. This will create the perfect hourglass shape and still keep a natural tone to the look. Lastly, remember the interaction you create with the photographer is key. While they are giving you directions and suggstions use that as a time to connect and bond with them, and your work will come out a lot better on every level if you are able to create a harmonious flow together. There is no greater reward than accomplish-ing exactly what you both envi-sioned.

Is Back

Much of the fashion from the 70’s can assuredly be left in that decade. On the other hand some trends can be revamped just enough for us to enjoy them today. With the high waisted shorts and pants making a come back one thing is certain, both men and woman let their opinions be heard. There doesn’t seem to be a common consensus in deciding whether these items should be worn or burned with the rest of our parents’ old attire. No matter your style or body type, these classic looking retro bathing suits are a must have for the summer. With this flattering fit there is little chance that these bottoms won’t hug your body in all the right ways. Head wraps are perfect for the summer, but often overlooked. Beach wear limits the amount of clothing you can have on, but accessorizing is a great way of perfecting your look.

Hair

1. Begin by sectioning your hair into 1-2 inch sections, starting from the nape of your neck. Spray a medium hold hairspray and curl each section with a 1-inch curling iron, working up your head. Its important to curl your hair all in the same direction. It doesn’t matter which direction, just all the same direction is key. 2. Grab your headband or head wrap of choice and gently place in your hair. The key is to stretch it over your head with your hands and get it into your desired place before releasing your hands. 3. Take a comb and back comb the ends of your hair for slight texture. 4. Gently pull back your hair with both hands into a very low ponytail. 5. Secure your low ponytail (a few inches above your ends) with an elastic band. 6. Take your hair where you secured with the elastic and roll it in, going upwards towards your headband. 7. Tuck your roll underneath the headband, fan out your hair and secure with bobby pins. 8. Finish this fab look off with a medium hold hair spray.

e are going to start our trip around the world in the fash-ion capitol itself, PARIS! Paris Fash-ion week - Men’s Edition opened its doors to admirers, designer, fashion icons and photographers from all four corners of the world. But that is not our focus, not at all. We want to take a more personal approach to fashion; we want to take it to the streets, literally. While everyone is there to see the latest trends being paraded down the runway, we want to know what you chose to wear, what you found fitting for such a vital event. We are led to believe that the models and designers are the only ones on display. More times than not your peers are scouring the crowd to see what they like, see what they find; ridiculous as well as inspiring. You see the fashion in action, in its natural element and watch the reactions while your confidence is booming by combining just the right parts of an outfit.

WThe successful event lasted five days with many highlights to cov-er. To start the show the classic Val-ention presented his latest men’s wear, along with Raf Simons. For the first time in his career, Belgian womenswear designer, Haider Ackermann presented his men’s wardrobe. Other presenters included Givenchy, Dior, Hermes, Maison Martin Margiela, Yohji, and of course Louis Vuitton. The at-tendees came prepared this year! Many trends that were presented on the walkway were already in full force out of the streets. Floral prints have definitely made its way onto the men’s platform. Designer Dries Van Noten presented his take on the casual floral print shirts while our fashion guests showed no fear in his overwhelming floral suit. Thom Browne decided to show us his patriotic side by com-bining a mix of casual with military attire for his interesting look. We noticed a lot of risky unusual combinations such as, mixing of half solid and plaid blazers with tan pants that seemed so effort-less and daring. One thing that will never go out of style is a form fitting tailored suit.

Hermes never disappoints, especially this year using the finest fabrics; linen, poplin, and suede which makes all the difference. Street wear didn’t fail us in this aspect either with the classic gray suits. Although we didn’t see many guests wearing anything as unconventional as paneled skirts by Rick Owens, we did see very sleek and modern gray drapes worn just right.

“Fashion is an act of faith. And in an age where no secret is sacred, where fabrications and false confidences are the stuff of daily life, fashion has retained its mystery...and never has it been talked about so much - the best possible proof of its power to enchant. “ - Christian Dior Moving on a little further east we find the amazing fashion trade-show of Florence, Italy “Pitti Uomo. It’s rare to find a gathering of fashion savvy men. This trade show takes place twice a year and really seems to bring out the best; the exhibition covers everything even streetwear. This year the gathering attracted all age groups and reminded us that the Italians can do no harm! The crowd seemed to have an overwhelmingly similar look and very specific attention to detail and accessories. Our friends from France seemed to have gone down the path of extreme and daring while here we have taken a classic look and given it a twist, like camouflage pants mixed with a classic vest and loose scarf. Another attention-worthy wardrobe was the royal blue short suit, with the perfect American flag converse to match. While people all over the world are trying to reinvent fashion, some people can achieve those same results by giving their own spin onto the classic suit look .The combinations are endless and each pattern and material selected sets you apart from the rest. The simple gesture of a bowtie with matching suspenders is definitely a look we hope makes a resurgence in the states.

Not Easy, but NOT impossible! Self-Motivation is Key!

Engaging in a healthy diet and keeping up with a consis-tent workout routine is one of the main things people struggle with. Some say it’s hard to start, but in reality it’s more diffi-cult to maintain. But difficult doesn’t mean impossible. The key is motivation and dedication, and it’s up to you to find it and stick with it.

Compete with yourself, not with others. Staying moti-vated to reach your fitness goals is not the easiest thing in the world to do, but it’s definitely NOT the hardest either. Here are a few tips on how to get motivated and stay motivated. Plan Ahead – We all have fairly busy lives with work, school, family, etc., but that can’t stop you from making time for your health. planning on working out de-pending on how your day goes, and instead, plan a time or times for working out and see how much better your day goes. Get a day planner. Write out your set schedules, then fill in the open spaces with some fitness. If it’s only fifteen minutes – fine. Thirty minutes – even better! One hour – perfect! Just do it! Any physical activity in your day is better than none at all. Get a Buddy – Some people have trouble kicking them-selves in the butt to hit the gym or push play for that workout DVD, but there is a simple solution for that – find someone to do the butt kicking for you! Sometimes we need that extra push. This will help you both feed off each other’s energy to keep going strong. Surround Yourself With Your Goal – If you’re a visual

person, try keeping pictures of the final destination you’re headed for in your sight at all times. Post pictures on your walls, or even as your phone wallpaper, of people with the body you’re working hard to get. If you have a favorite outfit you want to fit into again, keep that nearby as well. Find and print out motivational quotes and hang those on your walls too. Make it the first thing you see every morning, afternoon, and night, and even in your dreams.

Keep a Journal – Document everything! Write down what you eat, how long you walked, how many reps and sets you do, how much weight you use, so on and so forth. Take progress pictures. Don’t be afraid to snap those “selfies”, we all do it. You don’t have to post them every time or even at all; create a folder on your phone, computer, tablet, whatever – just keep track! This will give you physical proof of your accomplishments and journey. Once you start seeing the results, self-motivation will come so much easier.

It’s never too late to start working out and eating right. No matter how busy you are, you CAN find a way to fit it into your schedule – you WILL figure out a way. Even if it’s just 1 day per week or 20 minutes per day, you can make it happen. No one can hold you back, but yourself.

Broaden your Focus - Don’t limit your focus on numbers. You may have started by stepping on a scale, subtracting that number by 20, and are using that as your only motivation key. It won’t work. You cannot pay attention to how much you weigh because you will be disappointed. Depending on what your workout consists of, you may see your weight go up and down throughout your journey. Focus on your diet and make sure you’re eating right because that’s what contributes to the results you’re looking for. Focus on the whole picture…which is you. If you work hard and eat right, you WILL see results in your body rather than on that silly old scale.

the famous court case of the United States vs. Windsor in the U.S Supreme Court which officially declared Section 3 as UNCONSTITUTIONAL under the Due Process Clause of the Fifth Amend-ment. What does all of this mean on a larger spectrum? Thirty years from now will we look back at these issues with embarrassment and rage, because we actually questioned someone’s love for their partner and considered it illegal? Until we are able to convince the rest of the world that love knows no color, race, religion or sex we are still fighting the same fight. Class With Color had the amazing opportunity to interview Anthony Salazar who it the Student Organizing Coordinator for the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Educa-tion Network (GLSEN) Phoenix Chapter. Their mission is to create a healthy and safe school climate for students regardless of their sexual orienta-tion and gender identity/expression. The reason he got involved with the chapter was to support a great cause and assist with the efforts to provide students the ability to be themselves at school and build a foundation in order for them to get a good education in a safe learning environment. This means being free from bullying and harass-ment. Anthony’s involvement with this organization is really inspiring on many

levels. His fondest memory was leading and supporting their local Jump-Start team which is a group of high school student leaders who are committed and passionate and willing to express their individuality and diversity amongst their peers. We asked Anthony is he felt that younger children were becoming more comfortable with their sexuality now. As a leader with hands on experi-ence in this issue, Anthony expressed that children are definitely more comfortable expressing their sexuality for many reasons. Some reasons include gaining more allies in our communities, and a number of organizations such as GLSEN who work with K-12 schools. With so much struggle and pain that people have to face in their everyday life, there is nothing more rewarding or helpful than having a real soul mate to share these struggles, dreams and aspirations with. There is no reason we should be prohibiting people from finding their happiness or teaching our children that these actions are immoral or illegal. We admire Anthony for his take charge attitude and commitment to his community.

In 1996 The Defense of Marriage Act was passed by both houses of Con-gress by large and veto-proof, and later signed into law by President Bill Clinton. At that time our government felt that heterosexual couples were the only ones privileged to the benefits of marriage. Meaning homosexual relationships did not entitle people to get insurance benefits, social security survivors’ benefits, immigration, bank-ruptcy, and filing of joint tax returns, also excluding their spouses from the scope of laws protecting families of fed-eral officers, laws evaluating financial aid eligibility, and federal ethics laws applicable to opposite-sex spouses. By passing this law, our government allowed states to refuse and recognize same sex-marriages granted under the laws of other states. In 2011 the Obama administration announced that Section 3 of DOMA was unconstitutional and though they would continue to enforce the law while it existed, they would no longer defend it in court. As we all know this year marks the first time that we are finally starting to feel the shift in our country towards a more positive and accepting future. Even president Clinton seems to have had a change of heart along with other key legisla-tors who have advocated for DOMA’s repeal. On June 26th we all witnessed

United StatesVS. Windsor

I applaud the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down the Defense of Marriage Act. This was discrimination enshrined in law. It treated loving, committed gay and lesbian couples as a separate and lesser class of people. The Supreme Court has righted that wrong, and our country is better off for it. We are a people who declared that we are all created equal – and the love we commit to one another must be equal as well. - President Obama

There are still countries around the world that have Anti-LGBT laws including, but not limited to: sodomy laws penalizing con-sensual same-sex sexual activity with fines, jail terms, or the death penalty, and higher ages of consent for same-sex activity. On the other hand there are countries all over the world that have recog-nized same sex marriage as legal dating as far back as 2003. Such as, Spain, Mayotte,Reunion(Which are both part of France) South Africa, Canada, Saint Pierre et Miquelon, Caribbean Netherlands, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.

Who Needs A Gym When You’ve Got A JobNo matter what we want to do, we have to start somewhere. Whether it is picking up a new instrument, memorizing lines for a play, learning a dance, or working out; starting small is better than not starting at all. Leave excuses out of it, because excuses are the main cause for failure. If you want to get started on a workout routine, you don’t have to step into a gym pre-pared to do Dwayne Johnson’s (The Rock) routine. As a matter of fact you don’t have to step

into a gym at all; you can start just by showing up to your office job.

Many of us work a 9-5 job that requires us to be chained to our desk most of the time and in front of a computer. That doesn’t have to keep you from getting some fitness into your day. The following are a few exercises you can do and benefit from while working. Getting paid to workout, now that’s what I’m talking about!!

a. Squats – Repeat sitting down and standing up from your chair about 10 times, 3 times per day. Switch it up by doing wall squats. Against a wall, squat down

to just above 90 degrees, hold for 15 seconds, then squat lower to 90 degrees for another 15 seconds, repeat this routine for 1 minute. b. Calf Raises – Simply stand up, and get on those toes! c. Walking – Park far if you’re early enough and have time to walk the dis-tance and/or walk around the building (inside or out) on your breaks. You can get as much as 45mins – 1 hour of cardio during the workday. Amazing isn’t it? d. Leaning Push-Ups –Do maximum rep push-ups against a sturdy wall or desk. Try different positions overtime and/or maximiz-ing your reps (i.e. the closer

you bring your hands to-gether, the more challeng-ing the push-up gets). e. Arms – Keep a set of dumbbells at your desk or even using a full water bottle will suffice for bi-cep curls, overhead triceps extensions, shoulder press, etc.

You may feel a little awk-ward doing these workouts at your desk, but that’s only if someone sees you. Don’t be embarrassed to live healthy, because at the end of the day that’s all you’re doing. Your co-workers may be amused at first, but secondly you may inspire them to join you. Next thing you know, you’ll be their per-sonal office-workout trainer.
