The Eastern Bay Primary Health Alliance (EBPHA) was formed in 2010 from the three Primary Health Organisa� ons in Kawerau, Ōpo� ki and Whakatāne and is responsible for the delivery of primary health services in the Eastern Bay.
EBPHA is governed by a Board of trustees comprising of nine trustees plus an independent Chair. Three trustees are drawn from Clinicians, three from the Community and three from the Iwi of the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
At the discre� on of the Board, one trustee from each of the three categories may re� re at the date of the Annual General Mee� ng (AGM). The Board has decided that a rota� on will occur at this year’s AGM held on the 25th October 2017, and new appointments will be made to take eff ect at this date. Re� ring trustees maybe reappointed.
Applica� ons are now invited for a Clinical and Community Representa� ve; the two vacancies are for representa� ves who are residents of the Eastern Bay Region. Applicants should be able to demonstrate an interest in and knowledge of primary health care, be of good character, and have suitable links with and be able to represent eff ec� vely the category in which they seek appointment.
The role of a trustee is voluntary, but a Board a� endance fee and travel costs will be paid.

The Resource Management Amendment Act 2017 introduces from 18 October 2017, new processes for resource consent exemp� on and fast track consents. It also changes applicants appeal and objec� on rights on some resource consent decisions. The changes to the Act allow Council to amend its fees to provide for the new processes, a� er consul� ng with the community as required under the Local Government Act 2002.
A copy of the statement of Proposal under the Local Government Act, for the proposed fee changes can be found on the Council webpage www.whakatane.govt.nz/haveyoursay. Copies are also available at the Council offi ces.
