CLASSIFYING CRITTERS

Naming Species

Species are named using the Linnaeus system.

The Linnaeus system provides two names to identify a particular species. Much like you have a First and Last name.

Page 3: Classifying critters

The more classification levels that two organisms share, the more characteristics they have in common. In this case, all these animals belong to the Felidae family, however, they belong to different subfamilies, which explains their differences.
