Since 2005, Dragonfly Designs has been sharing the joy of art and jewelry making with our community in the San Francisco Bay Area. The aim of our family business is to enable children’s creativity through holistic art education.

We believe that artistic expression is crucial to healthy development. Art should be an engaging, tactile, and rewarding experience. Our goal is to create peaceful and inclusive spaces where each child is empowered to make truly unique treasures by hand.

Because there’s no better time for cognitive retention than learning a language at a young age, we o�er classes and camps taught in Mandarin and Spanish to children age five to teenagers. An

understanding of art and language expands worldviews and fosters an appreciation for cultural diversity.

Our full day Jewelry Making, Art Exploration, and Textiles camps also include an hour of yoga to encourage mindfulness and movement. Meditative focus is a natural part of craft making, and we strive to bring this mindset to all of our events.

PRE-K (OR) K-1ST

Dare to dazzle with handmade jewelry pieces! This is a jewelry-making class for

beginners that encourages children to explore their creativity through an

introduction to interesting colors, textures, and age-appropriate jewelry-making

techniques. Our classes are designed not only to entertain, but to improve

hand-eye coordination, small muscle development, and pattern-making skills.

Additionally, our language immersion classes provide a stimulating creative

environment of creative exploration to promote early language comprehension.

Boys and girls can learn the basics of beading, finger knitting and so much more!

Our highly trained and fun instructors(who are native speakers in the language that

they teach) create a relaxed, encouraging environment all children will love.

Jewelry Making & Design [Taught in English, Mandarin & Spanish]

Classes


K-1ST

In these weekly hour long sessions, students will play with color & technique as

they develop their artistic abilities in various fields such as drawing, watercolor, and

acrylic painting. The open studio space encourages kids to bring their own

imagination to life while receiving guidance when they need it. They'll have a

chance to play with a variety of fun tools for painting and see di�erent techniques

in each medium. Give your child a wonderful opportunity to express themselves

and build skills for a lifetime of creativity!

Drawing/Painting/Acrylic/Watercolor Exploration [Taught in English, Mandarin & Spanish]

2ND & UP

Through mindful observation and the application of visual art skills, students are

challenged to expand their imagination and express themselves creatively. Students will

have the opportunity to engage in various projects that deepen their skills in the fields of

drawing, watercolor, and acrylic painting will be presented and practiced at times drawing

on inspiration from master art works & learning about the artist’s history. The open studio

format gives kids both support and freedom to make their dream world a tangible reality.

They will finish with valuable skills and their own art pieces to be proud of!




Textiles & Fiber ArtsPRE-KThis class will introduce students to the basics of textile and fiber art techniques.

Processes such as using scissors, cutting, threading needles, sewing, color theory,

dying, stamping and fabric painting will be introduced. Children will improve

concentration, focus, manual dexterity and hand eye coordination. Projects may

include the following:

2ND & UP, TEENS/TWEENS

Our newly designed Jewelry Making class begins with the creation of an Art Journal

where students will document new techniques learned throughout class. Students

will begin with the basics by getting to know the tools of the trade and then

practicing jewelry making skills such as crimping, bead stringing and designing their

own pieces. Once the basics have been mastered, students will advance to more

complex techniques such as wire work & stamping & dapping metal.

Tap into your natural creative talents and personal style by designing your own

jewelry! Create customized jewelry for you and your friends to wear by choosing

from a huge selection of hot colors, textures, and unique beads to make

one-of-a-kind pieces. Our classes are designed not only to be fun, but to let you in

on some of the most popular jewelry making techniques available, such as wire

wrapping, beautiful beading, woven cotton cord, and leather projects. We use only

the highest quality findings, freshwater pearls, and Czech glass beads and work to

develop the skills to make your own jewelry long after the jewelry class ends. Our

highly trained and fun instructors are native speakers of the language they teach,

and create a relaxed, encouraging environment all children will love.





Funky Bunch Hip Hop Dance Class K & UpStudents get down and throw down some moves to the beat like their favorite pop

stars with our easy-to-follow routines that focuses on hip hop choreography,

while also teaching them about the genre’s history. Combining freestyle dancing,

dance routines, students get to showcase their own style while building up their

co-ordination and rhythm skills. This energetic class isn’t just fun—it’s also ideal for

building confidence and performance skills while learning about one of the most

dynamic genres of music in the United States today.

Conscious Caterpillars: Yoga, Mindfulness & Meditation K & UpIt’s never too early to learn yoga & to meditate! Students will jump into fun,

focused movement and breathwork blended with useful relaxation techniques to

use at home after a hectic week of school and social activities. Dynamic yoga

poses build strength, increase flexibility, and improve coordination while providing

students the basics of life-long balance and mindfulness. Get breathing and

re-centered with us! Om.

Toppling Tree Yoga Pre-K (or) K & UpGet breathing with our Toppling Tree Yoga class! Young children have a natural

desire to move their bodies as a form of self-expression, and in this fun, hour-long

class, children will work on breathing techniques, flexibility, social skills and simple

yoga poses as we play fun yoga games. Our certified instructors provide an

imaginative and relaxing environment for students to have fun, stay healthy, and

get in tune with their bodies!

Divergent thinking, the ability to look at multiple ways to solve problems, is the

most valuable life skill we can o�er our children. Students will be led by our native

Mandarin speakers on an adventurous exploration of art mediums such

as metal, clay, wax, wood, paper and glass to create innovative projects from

candle making, mosaics, painting, tie dye, jewelry design, etching, paper mache

and so much more!

Creative Explorers Art [Taught in English, Mandarin & Spanish] K-1ST (OR) 2ND-5TH

K-1 AND 2+This class will introduce students to the basics of textile and fiber art techniques.

Processes such as sewing, wool felting, weaving, screen printing, macrame,

dyeing, stamping and fabric painting will be introduced. Students will learn to

design, plan, and execute their ideas from an abstract notion into a tangible

product. Projects may include the following:

Creative Dance Class Pre-K (or) K-3RD

Get your groove on with a creative dance class that encourages natural freeform

dancing rather than step-by-step routines! Covering genres from ballet to jazz,

hip-hop to world and contemporary, kids learn about music as they dance with

our provided props. Not only is Creative Dance a fun class, kids are also developing

their motor skills, muscle co-ordination and flexibility as they perform their own

choreographed dances. This enriching class immerses children in the rich world of

music and dance, allowing them to express their creativity in their own unique

style with their peers—just don’t blame it on the boogie!

Tap into your creativity in a camp filled with art & beading bliss!

After an opening hour of yoga poses and friendship building games campers will

jump into the artistic process and come away with a brand new collection of

gorgeous art & jewelry pieces and the skills to make each one of them! We teach

a wide array of art & jewelry techniques not to be found elsewhere. Techniques

working with clay, metal, etching, beading, patina, stamping and dapping,

mosaics, candle & soap making, painting, tie dye and copper etching may be

introduced.

Art, Jewelry Making + Yoga AGES 5-12

Textiles & Fiber Arts Camp AGES 7-13Campers will jump into the artistic process and come away with a brand new

collection of gorgeous textile art pieces and the skills to make each one of them!

This camp will introduce students to the basics of textile and fiber art techniques.

leatherworking techniques such as dying, stitching, stamping & burnishing! Learn

the properties of metal & leather and how to combine them into enviable wearable

Creative Caterpillars Art PRE-KUnlock the power of creativity with Dragonfly Designs’ Creative Caterpillars Art

Class! Students will explore a variety of art mediums such as clay, paint, paper,

wax, dye & more. Students will develop fine motor skills while exploring the

limitless possibilities of their own creative spirits.

What better way for your child to engage in the vocabulary of a new language then

through tactile engagement with art! Our immersion camps will expose children

to new vocabulary through dynamic modes of self-expression. Our camp options

are lead by native speakers in the target language in a full immersion environment.

Because there’s no better time for cognitive retention than learning a language at

a young age, we o�er classes and camps taught in Mandarin and Spanish to

children age five to 12. An understanding of art and language expands worldviews

and fosters an appreciation for cultural diversity. These camps are appropriate for

children who attend immersion schools and would like to practice the target

language when school is not in session.

Language Immersion Through Art [Taught in Mandarin, Chinese & Spanish] AGES 5-12

Take a walk on the wild side & explore working with metal & leather in this next
