    Upcoming in Cloud_cci+

    • SEVIRI and SLSTR with utilizing full spectral information from both(in contrast to AVHRR-heritage approach in Cloud_cci)

    • With both sensors Cloud_cci+ will now strive for providing cloud and radiation data at higher temporal (SEVIRI) and spatial (SLSTR) resolution facilitating, among others, analyses of small scale cloud processes and their radiative impact at TOA and surface.

    • Extending the utilization of machine learning techniques for cloud detection and cloud phase determination

    • New forward modelling approaches for the optimal estimation of cloud properties through better accounting for the cloud vertical extent and the sensors’ SRF in modelling scattering

    • Improving uncertainty characterizations of the products at all processing levels

    • Intensify the link with climate modelling community through 1-2 user case studies

    estimates are available. Ø multi-decadal multi-instrument product from (A)ATSR – AVHRR – MODIS (1982 - 2016)Ø decadal product that uses complimentary information from AATSR and MERIS on-board

    of ENVISAT (2002 - 2012)

    Ø Final version V3 is available, now ToA and BoA radiation fluxes are consistently derived and included in the products
