PLATE REFURBISHMENT

REMOVAL FROM SITEOur engineers are available to attend site to open heat exchangers and remove the existing plates and gaskets.

INITIAL INSPECTIONWhen the plates and gaskets arrive back at our works they are checked in against the customer’s specifi-cation and visually inspected for any damage.

CHEMICAL CLEANThe plates are degasketed and dipped in a series of chemical baths to remove deposits and scale. They are then pressure washed and dried before being visually inspected for the second time.

DYE PENETRANT TESTINGThe cleaned plates are sprayed with a fluorescent dye and inspected with an ultra violet lamp for pin holes and cracks.

PLATE REPLACEMENTA report will be provided detailing any plate failures and recommendations will be made. Failed plates will be replaced with new plates following our customer’s instructions.

REGASKETING Plates are regasketed with new gaskets and assembled in order ready to be fitted back into the heat exchanger frame.

QUICK TURNAROUNDPlates are usually available for despatch approximately 1 week after removal from site.

INSTALLATIONIf required our engineers are available to attend site to fit the refurbished plates, tighten the heat exchanger to the appropriate dimension and test for leaks.

Our engineers carry the CSCS (Construction Skills Certificate Scheme) Skill card which qualifies them to carry out installation and service work for all the leading construction companies. The CSCS card provides evidence that the holder has undergone health and safety awareness training and testing.

Along with the CSCS our engineers are also trained in first aid at work, confined spaces and have been security cleared at sensitive government buildings.

If access is poor or your plate heat exchangers are simply too big to be installed in one piece, our engineers can flat pack them for ease of transporting and positioning.

The heat exchangers are broken down in to their key components and palletised ready for transporting to the plant room.

Following a site survey the flat packed heat exchanger is positioned in line with the plant room drawing, rebuilt and pressure tested. As the work is undertaken by our own engineers your 12 month warranty is not affected.

PLATE HEAT EXCHANGER COMPONENTS

Most plate heat exchangers have a name plate label which states its make and model, unfortunately this label can be damaged or removed, making identification very difficult. By using our knowledge of plate heat exchangers we are able to identify most model types using the information below.

During the service life of a plate heat exchanger you will be regularly changing the gaskets and cleaning the heat transfer plates. However, there may be times when other items become damaged, especially if the plate heat exchanger is installed in an aggressive environment or used in conjunction with corrosive liquids.
