Technical Cleanliness Components and Fluid Circuits

Cleanliness is nothing more than a set of standards and methods for determining the degree of soiling of each part and standardizing methods of analysis to classify acceptable particle classes into distinct components.

Automotive companies are at the cutting edge when the matter is cleanliness, and it is not new, since the accuracy of parts and systems for combustion engines and components has been perfected over the years. Nowadays, a growing number of automotive parts have specified requirements for degree of soiling, technical drawings of parts already present in, besides tolerances of dimensional codes such as CCC (Component Cleanliness Code) that the parts must meet. The main reasons for that are:

Smaller tolerances make systems more sensitive to dirt (particles); Cleaning and service life of systems and parts are correlated; Large particles can cause loss of system function.

In midst of 2005, the non-governmental organization ISO (International Organization for Standardization) established the standard ISO 16232 for extraction and analysis methods. That standard also defined which equipment is required to determine the degree of soiling of the parts. The analysis procedure begins in a controlled environment (cleanliness lab), this control refers to the temperature of the environment and the particles amount in the air, extraction and analysis equipment are specially development to determine the degree of dirtiness.

Cleanliness Analysis

Control and Inspection

In South America, our laboratory is the only one that performs the

test: ISO Class 7 clean room, using an extraction cabinet booth

Gläser GmbH model ACM17 along with stereo microscope for

automatic particle counting Jomesa GmbH and it is aligned with

what is the most modern when the matter is Cleanliness.

Our laboratory can analyze small and large parts.

We offer to our customers the process of extraction of dirt and

identification of metal and non-metal particles, in addition to the

gravimetric test, using international standards ISO 16232:2018,

VDA 19.1:2015, ISO 4406, ISO 4407, which are qualified by the

company Gläser GmbH (Germany) and any specifications available

in the market.

REPORT The sent report contains all the information

regarding of the method of extraction, fluid

used, equipment, a photo demonstrating

the largest metallic and nonmetallic particle

found and gravimetric result.

The report model generated by

Enge Solutions follows the European

standard.
