Everyone must be his own scavenger M. K. Gandhi
On 2nd October, 2014, Hon’ble Prime minister of India, Shri
Narendra Modi, launched a nation-wide cleanliness campaign on the
occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary.
The concept of Swachh Bharat is to provide sanitation facilities to every
family, including toilets, solid and liquid waste disposal systems,
village cleanliness, and safe and adequate drinking water supply
This campaign aims to accomplish the vision of a 'Clean India' by 2
October 2019, the 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi.
It is expected to cost over ₹ 62000 Crore
In Hinduism, cleanliness is an important virtue, and all Hindus take a bath before entering temples in order to seek blessings. They also wash their
feet before entering the temple as according to the Puranas, the demon kali is believed to reside on the hind of
the feet.
Diwali is the biggest and the brightest festival in India
Hindus also clean their homes particularly well in preparing to
celebrate Diwali each year as they believe that it brings good luck. Most Hindus also believe that keeping your house clean and great devotion are gestures to welcome the Goddess
Lakshmi to their abode to stay
Quran says, “ Allah loves those who turn to Him
constantly and He loves those who keep themselves pure and clean” (2:222).
And, “…In mosque there are men who love to be clean and pure. Allah loves
those who make themselves clean and pure”
Carl Jacob historian of art and culture, and an influential figure in
the historiography ,observed :
"Cleanliness is indispensable to our modern notion of social perfection”
Cleanliness is both the abstract state of being clean and free from dirt, and the process of achieving
and maintaining that state.
Hygiene (which comes from the name of the Greek goddess of
health, Hygieia, is a set of practices performed for the preservation of
health
Cleanliness is next to godliness

Conventional Prosthesis
• Little Adaptable• Materials could be added or shaved, but there
was relatively little one could do to alter the limb once it was constructed.
• This lack of adaptability created a special problem for growing children. As technology advanced and with the use of lighter, stronger materials, endoskeletal prostheses were developed
Conventional Prosthesis
• As body dimensions and the mechanics of ambulation changed, exoskeletal prostheses would have to be replaced in their entirety. The cost and inconveniences associated with obtaining the new limbs often led to children using these prosthetic limbs longer than they should have.
Endoskeletal System
• The endoskeletal model more closely resembles the human body in force dispersion. This model also allows the prosthesis to be much lighter, requiring an expenditure of much less energy. Even with the lighter weight, the stronger materials today can be used with patients up to 300 to 350 pounds
Endoskeletal System
• The biggest advantage of the endoskeletal prosthesis is the component interchangeability and alignment adjustability.
• Children can have their prosthetic limb periodically lengthened or adjusted as they grow.
• Cosmetically, the "skin" of the endoskeletal prosthesis is made to look much more natural and may be easily changed to match the shape, contour, and color of the natural limb
