Creating the Change Our Community Needs
Will you join us and help build a stronger San Diego?
With our community expected to boom over the next 40 years, we face a number of unique
challenges on how to deal with the associated growth pressures. The response began with Our
Greater San Diego Vision (the Vision) and continues through the initiatives of The Malin Burnham San Diego Center for Civic Engagement (the Center).
The Civic Leadership Fund (CLF) helps facilitate the Vision by bringing together people that share our
passion for a vibrant and prosperous future for the region and whose contributions enable the Center to
achieve its bold targets in education, the environment, jobs, and the arts.
The Vision & CCEAs we see the cost of living increase year after year,
how will future generations of San Diegans afford to live 30-50 years from now? What if the qualities that
make San Diego a great place to live are threatened by a failure to plan for the future?
A massive effort spanning three years began with an in-depth study to determine our collective hopes and dreams, our worries, fears, and values. 30,000 local residents voiced
their opinions on what this might look like and The San Diego Foundation listened.
From here, together, we must act. The Center will steward the Vision and help move
the region forward by convening stakeholders, informing decisions, engaging people, and impacting
the evolution of this paradise we call home.
The Center is the culmination of work that will create and
build sustainable change
for our region by pursuing 2 strategies.
