§ Counseling seminar on “Direct Second Year Engg. Online centralized admissionprocess-2013” : Counseling seminar on “Direct Second Year Engg. online centralized admission process-2013” is organized by the department of computer technology on 10th July 2013 fordiploma pass out students of computer technology and Information Technologydepartment students. Prof. Mrs.V. R. Khapli, Principal, K. K.Wagh Women`sPolytechnic, inaugurated the program. Mr. H.M. Gaikwad, HOD (Computer) guided thediploma students about the how to fill online admission form, online process ofadmission, rules, seats and reservation for different category students, documentsrequired, cutoff of the year 2012 and Govt. scholarship schemes. The students of all fourcourses Computer Technology, Information Technology, Electronics &Telecommunication Engg. and Electronics & communication Engg. attended the seminarand understood the online admission process of direct second year Engg. All doubts ofall students were cleared in this counseling session. The fear about online admissionprocess is gone and all students felt confident about their further admission.

Prof. Mrs.V. R. Khapli, Pricipal, K. K.Wagh Women`sPolytechnic, inaugurated the program. Mr. Nirmik Kale, Mr.Satvik Kolhe, Mr. KshitijKhakurdikar all are member of Rivet Solution Pune guided the third year diplomastudents about the History of Linux, other Operating Systems before Linux, What isLinux & Why Linux , The Linux system, Security in Linux, OS Comparison, Linux &GNU, Open Source & Free, Advantages and Disadvantages of GNU/Linux, Linux &You. The Students get motivated by the guidance, as there is subject related to operatingsystem in their curriculum. They found the tips of guidance session very useful.

§ A seminar on “Project Management”:A seminar on “Project Management” is organized by the department of computertechnology on 22nd July 2013 for the students of third year Computer & InformationTechnology department. Prof. Mrs.V. R. Khapli, Principal, K. K.Wagh Women`sPolytechnic, inaugurated the program. Mr. Jayesh Buwa, Director, GlobalTech Solution,Nashik guided the third year students of computer technology department about how toprovide custom application programming services to end customers, excellent servicesand products provided to the customers, process of how Software development, Projectdevelopment and implant training is given by the organization, how quality standards aremaintained for every stage of the development process, from conceptual design toproduct release, offer of the organization contains a wide range of custom programmingskills including the latest and most effective development technologies like .NET(ASP.NET, VB.NET, and C #), Java and many more. The students get motivated by the

guidance, as there is a project to be developed by third year students in their sixthsemester according to the curriculum. They found the tips of session very useful.

§ An Expert Lecture on “Cyber Security”:An Expert Lecture on “Cyber Security” is organized by the department of ComputerTechnology on 25th July 2013 for second and third year diploma students of computertechnology department. Prof. Mrs.V. R. Khapli, Principal, K. K.Wagh Women`sPolytechnic, inaugurated the program. Mr. Tanmay Dixit.Cyber Security Expert, Centerfor Personality Assessment & Graphology, Nashik. He focused on various topics relatedto Cyber Securities like Cyber Crime, Its methods; identify the internet scams, conceptsof keylogger, steganography, virus, worm, Trojan, malware and spyware. Credit cardskimming, Wi-Fi security, spoofing email id, Phishing, vishing, International caller idcall, SQL Injection. The students got all the information related to securities related tovarious cyber laws and their doubts were cleared in this guidance session.

§ Expert Lecture on ‘Satellite Communication’ :

An expert lecture on ‘Satellite Communication’ was arranged by the InformationTechnology department on 27th July 2013. The expert for the lecture was Mr.NikhilBhujbal (Assistant Professor, Electronics and Telecommunication Department, Nasik).He discussed with the students about the functions of satellite communication, groundwaves, frequency bands, orbits, types of orbits. He also covered the topic of mobilecommunication.

§ Seminar on Electronic Equipment Testing

A seminar on “Electronic Equipment Testing” was organized by the department ofElectronics and Telecommunication Engineering for Third year students on 29th July2013. Mr. A.D. Bhavsar , Electronic Design Engineer from ADB Tech. Pvt. Ltd , Satpur,Nasik was the speaker. He explained students about testing of various equipments such asResistors, Capacitors, Inductors, Transistors , Transformers, LEDs , Optocouplers ,MOSFETs etc. using analog or digital multimeters or few other techniques. Students gotvery important information about testing of electronic components.

• Meeting/Conference / Workshop/Training attended by staff:Mr.R.M.Yeole attended a two weeks induction program organized by K.K.WaghPolytechnic, Nasik from 10th June 2013 to 21st June 2013. The program was organized by“National Institute of Technical Teachers Training & Research”, Bhopal in associationwith Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education. The first week training focused ontopics of development of competency map, curriculum, specification table, practicalassignments ,study of projects and development of case study. Second week trainingincluded the topics on importance of industrial visits and design and development ofquestion papers and lab manuals.

• Departmental Activities:§ Cloth Donation Camp

All of us are aware of the fact that many children of our country are not getting enoughfood to eat, cloths to wear. Our Government is taking a very good care of the children whoare below the poverty line, who are not having their parents, by establishing various hostels

having all facilities which are free of cost. In such hostels, all such children are getting allthe basic needs along with good education. Keeping this view in mind, Department ofElectronics and Communication Engg. Dept has organized a “Cloth Donation Camp” inthe institute from 17th July to 23rd July .Ms.Shradha Pund and Ms.Jayashree Tidke has takeninitiative for organizing the camp under the guidance of Mrs.S.S.Chandgude,HOD. Manystudents of our institute participated and collected the cloths to such needy ones. Thecollection of cloths was donated to “Shaskiya Mulinche Anurakshan Gruha” .

• Industrial Visits Organized by Departments:§ Visit to Rajendra Electronics

Visit to Rajendra Electronics Mr.Rahul Chopade while giving Information

Electronics And Communication Department has arranged an Industrial Visit for second yearstudents to Rajendra Electronics, Satpur, Nashik, on 15th July 2013.It was UPS,VoltageStabilizers manufacturing company. Mr.Rahul Chopade, the Manager explained themanufacturing process of UPS, voltage stabilizers, power supplies and batteries in a beautifulway. He has also shown the transformers and explained the working of transformers. Studentsare benefitted by having such a useful knowledge in their field of Electronics.

§ Visit to Control Room of Nasik Road Railway Station

Visit to Control Room of Nasik Road Railway StationElectronics And Communication Department has arranged an Industrial Visit of third yearstudents to Nasik Road Railway Station Control Room on 29th July 2013.Mr.B.N.Gajare andMs.Jayashree Tidke were present along with students. Mr.M.K.Sinha has explained the overalloperation of control room panel such as control of arriving and departure of railways,changeover of tracks, control of gap between two tracks etc. He also explained application ofvarious electronics components such as Relays, Auxiliary transformer, Motors, Lamps with twofilaments and equipments like power supply, battery back-up in power failure etc.

§ Visit to Sivananda Electronics, Deolali, Nashik.

A study visit was organized by the department of Electronics and TelecommunicationEngineering for Third year students at Shivananda Electronics, Deolali, Nashik on 05th July2013. There were two sections in the company. First was a Security Product Section and anotherwas Instrumentation Section. Mr. Dinesh Hire and Mr. Tushar Deshmukh, senior engineerguided the students about the products manufactured in their company such as a Door FrameMetal Detector, Hand Held Metal Detector, Oil Insulation Test Kit, Transformer WindingResistance Meters etc. They explained their working, manufacturing and various applications.The visit proved very informative to students.

Visit to Rajendra Electronics, Satpur, Nashik.

A study visit was organized by the department of Electronics and TelecommunicationEngineering for second year students at Rajendra Electronics , Satpur Nashik on 08th July 2013.Mr. Chopde , senior engineer guided the students about the products manufactured in theircompany such as Inverters, Mini UPS, Transformers etc. He also explained about themanufacturing and working of Three Phase Servo Controlled Voltage Stabilizer. Students sawthe Coil winding operation on Transformer Core. The visit was very beneficial to students asthey got an idea about Inverter and Transformer manufacturing.

§ Visit to Enercon Pvt. Ltd., Kokanwadi, Taked, Nashik.

A study visit was organized by the department of Electronics and TelecommunicationEngineering for second year students at Enercon Pvt. Ltd., Kokanwadi, Taked, Nashik on 11th July2013. Enercon is the fourth-largest wind turbine manufacturer in the world and has beenthe market leader in Germany since the mid-nineties. Enercon has production facilities inGermany, Sweden, Brazil, India ,Canada, Turkey and Portugal. Enercon had installed more than20,000 wind turbines, with a power generating capacity exceeding 28 GW. Mr. NileshWaghmare guided the students about working and generation of power from windmill. Heexplained students about the SCADA system used to control the plant. Also it is usefull forkeeping various records of the plant.

• Staff Study Circle Activities:

Mr.R.M.Yeole (Information Technology Department.) delivered a seminar on ‘WebsiteDevelopment’ as a part of the staff study circle on 27th July 2013. He explained the steps ofwebsite creation and hosting, the tools used for website development like php triad,Dreamweaver and SQL. He also covered the usage of wordpress JQuery etc.

• Competitions Organizes by Departments:§ C and C++ Programming Contest arranged by the Information Technology

Department.An Inter Departmental C Programming contest was organized by the Information Technology

Department for the Second Year students of Computer and Information Technology departmentsand for the Third Year students of Electronics and Telecommunication and Electronics andCommunication departments on 18th July 2013. Also a C++ Programming Contest was organizedfor the Third Year students of Computer Technology and Information Technology on 22nd July2013. Mr.Darshan Bandiwadekar(Astwz Technologies) judged the competition.

First rank for the C Programming contest in Computer group was awarded to Ms.Kanchan Bairagi(SYIF) and Second place was awarded to Ms. Jangam Sneha (SYCM).

First rank for the C Programming contest in Electronics group was awarded to Ms.Lazaree Deshmane(TYEJ) and Second place was awarded to Ms. Kasturi Pawar (TYEJ).

For C++ Programming contest, the first rank was awarded to Ms. Ankita Sonawane(TYIF) and Second rank to Ms.Handore Komal(TYCM)
