Dubai International Airport

Currently the 10th busiest airport in the world with over 60 million passengers annually, Dubai International Airport has 72 passport control gates, 30 baggage claim belts and 60 aerobridges for passenger loading and unloading.

The challenge for Allegion was in providing security and life

safety products for a working facility that addressed all the

requirements of passengers, workers and visitors.

The efficiency of the security is compromised if doors do not

close properly, every time. The architects were therefore guided

to the specification of the LCN 4000 series of cast iron closers

- making them heavy duty and the reliable choice, whilst also

offering the durability of 10 million cycles.

The architects selected Von Duprin panic and emergency exit

hardware solutions with delayed egress features which guard

against unauthorised entry to the tarmac.

Dubai management was concerned about key duplication.

A patented proprietary keyway was also provided by Schlage

for their mechanical access control.
