The Hills Shire Council will be entering a new term of Council, following the elections on 9 September 2017. Advisory Committees of Council are appointed under Section 355 of the Local Government Act.

Existing Advisory Committees will cease their current role at midnight on 8 September 2017. Nominations are now open for the new term of Council. Nominations must be connected to the purpose of the committee via interest, volunteer or paid work and are available to attend at least two meetings per year plus activities as designated by the committee during the term. Members follow the relevant Terms of Reference and The Hills Shire Council’s Volunteer Manual.

Committees work with the community to assist Council in gaining valuable community insight. The next Advisory Committee term will be from November, 2017 to the Council Election in September 2020. NOMINATIONSOpen from 2 August, 2017 until 10 September, 2017. Go to Council’s website, and search ‘volunteering opportunities’ to nominate. Nominations are accepted from current and prospective individuals. All positions are voluntary.
