BACKGROUND
Stobart Rail are constructing a new Maintenance Workshop building on a Network Rail owned and Northern Rail operated site in Manchester which includes an Effluent Treatment Plant operated by SLR. One phase of the construction programme included the diversion of a wastewater pipeline and associated Pumping Station power and control infrastructure around the footprint of the new building.
OUR ROLE
SLR ensured we had team members on site seven days a week where necessary to support Stobart Rail and their sub-contractors in the task of identifying and diverting the strategic civil, electrical and control infrastructure associated with the Effluent Treatment Plant pumping system.
The process faced a number of challenges including the sudden arrival of Winter Storm Erik, but effective teamwork between SLR, Stobart Rail and their sub-contractors ensured a vital part of the programme was delivered.
