Guide to our new solutions 8-9

Overview of the offer 10-11

Unsettled global weather patterns in recent decades have been accompanied by sudden temperature variations, torrential rain, high levels of humidity, extreme temperatures, etc. These phenomena can be harmful to control panels running critical functions (road traffic, infrastructure, continuous processes, etc), which contain a considerable amount of electronic equipment and are often installed in severe environments.

Condensation and humidity on electronic equipmentImplications...Appearance of one of the signs of condensation

• High humidity

• Low temperature

• Dew point frequently reached

Accelerated ageing (oxidation, etc)

Risk of short-circuits, malfunctions, etc

Consequences...High costs of service interruptions

or breakdowns.

Risk of unreliable equipment.

Condensation and humidity on electronic equipment... SolutionsThere are various solutions for dealing with problems such as condensation, humidity and low temperatures.

Schneider Electric’s control offer (hygrostats, thermostats and hygrotherms) controls variables very precisely.

Combined with our range of resistance heaters, this control offer defines Schneider Electric’s precision heating solution:

• Directed heat

• Improved energy efficiency

Ultra thin resistance heaters: an innovative solution to humidity and condensation

advantages

Ultra thin resistance heaters have been designed to

resolve condensation problems in the most complex

installations.

Is your enclosure short of space?

Does your mounting plate make it impossible to install

a conventional heater?

Do you not want to take out the equipment?

Discover the benefits of this new offer and its numerous

mounting solutions.

Ultra thin resistance heaters: an innovative solution to humidity and condensation

1 Minimum thickness

They are extremely slim: 1.6 mm.

As a result the usable space in the cabinet

has been optimised for installing equipment.

This can increase the usable space by up

to 30%!

3 Multiple options for fixing

Innovative quick-fixing system using Velcro

pads (no need for a tool!) or with basic fixing

accessories (screw + spacer). These systems

make it easy to move the heater if necessary.

5 Low starting current: energy efficiency

Ultra thin resistance heaters are ohmic:

they therefore have a low starting current.

6 No interference emissions

These heaters can be installed near electronic

equipment to guarantee optimum heat without

the risk of electromagnetic interference.

4 Numerous positions for installation

These heaters are so slim and flexible they can

be installed in a variety of positions:

• On the back of floor-standing or wall-mounted

enclosure door

• Vertically on side panels

• On the mounting plate

2 Heat and safety

The heat is distributed over the whole surface

and does not exceed 70ºC. This temperature

allows devices next to the heater to be handled

safely.

•Asageneralrule, positionthehygrostatin the bottom of the enclosure, under the equipment so that the heat generated can benefit all the equipment.

Expert’s tip 3

•Theheatingspeedischosenaccordingto the control device operating time. For occasional use, choose fast heating. To resolve condensation problems, choose a heater with a slow or average heating speed.
