DISORDER PERVASIVE DEVELOPMENTAL DISORDER/AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER
AUTISTIC DISORDER---Impairments of social interaction---Problem in communication---restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior are quite evident
ASPERGER’S SYNDROME
---exhibit the same signs as those with an autistic disorder -- do not show severe impairments in language development

RETT’S SYNDROME--Apparently normal prenatal & perinatal development --Apparently normal psychomotor development through the first 5 months after birth Normal head circumference at birth

--Multiple regression in skills after a relatively prolonged period (at least 2yrs) of normal functioning.Most typically, acquired skills are lost in ALL areas.

--- Impairment in the development of arithmetical or mathematical skills that is sufficiently serious to interfere with academic achievement or daily living.
DISORDER OF WRITTEN COMMUNICATION
---The impairment may be exhibited in a variety of ways, the most common of which are spelling errors, grammatical or syntactic errors, punctuation errors, poor paragraph organization, and excessively poor handwriting.

-Is defined as the presence of either motor tics or vocal tics but not both.
