Message from

Jamie Collingridge

There is bumper crop of clocks this month. In the following pages you

will find (mostly decorative) clocks in eight different sales in London,

New York and Amsterdam. At the end of this update (p. 26) I have

given contact details of the specialist to contact for each sale if you

need more information or extra images, but if I can be of any help

please just let me know.

I am pleased to say that clocks have been getting some good press and

on a couple of occasions this year I have opened up my daily

newspaper to read of one which has done well at auction. In the more

specialist press, reviewing the Warner collection Anne Crane of the

Antiques Trade Gazette commented ‘Good British clocks appear to be

credit crunch-resistant at present’ and her colleague Anna Brady has also

written of the ‘cheering statistics’ demonstrated by our inaugural sale of

Important English Furniture and Clocks in January.Amidst all the

doom and gloom about the economy it is refreshing to read something

positive. Long may it continue.

Kind regards

Jamie Collingridge
