Where All The Celebrities Come Out To Play

HistoryPrior to becoming Club Play, the location it sits on at 5th and Lenox has had a fl amboyant history spanning two decades and has been a landmark on Miami Beach since its original construction in 1990. The club was originally built and eventually opened a gentleman’s club by a group out of Atlanta. This group already ran a successful chain of Adult Clubs under the name “Gold Club” and wanted to bring their trade to Miami Beach. Shortly after their opening the, City of Miami Beach decided to create ordinances against nudity and alcohol. Knowing the level of controversy it would create, the owners leased the property to Uncle Luke in 1990 and he operated it under the name “Luke’s Miami Beach”.

Uncle Luke began throwing hip-hop, Latin and other parties nightly and even held some comedy shows, including giving Jamie Foxx his big break. After only two years of operation, he lost the club and it was eventually sold by the Atlanta group in 1994. A new company purchased this property and created Cristals Night Club, which was short lived as well. It wasn’t until 2005 when a popular restaurant and lounge in Toronto, Canada decided to throw its hat into the South Beach ring. “The Fifth” was created and became a mecca for corporate events and popular parties across multiple demographics. Despite some initial success, the club lasted only 4 years, which opened up an opportunity for someone new to approach the spot.

About Th e New VenueClub Play is arguably the best located venue on South Beach as it sits on the main road that brings anyone onto the beach and is the only venue on the beach with its own on-site parking. The capacity of the club ranges from 650 to well over 1000 depending upon the furniture confi guration, which is custom built nightly to best suit the event that is being held. Whether it is an “all-VIP” club with 50 plus table areas, or the largest dance fl oor on the beach, the transformation can be completed in minutes. We attempt to create a unique experience in every way.

From the culture of our employees (who are trained in providing elite levels of customer service) to bringing in the biggest celebrities in the country, Club Play sets itself apart from all other venues. By having the most fl exible venue in all of South Florida, the fact that we are the only large venue with its own parking lot, the most advanced technology and sound system of any club, we can assure you that the Club Play experi-ence for those attending your function will be nothing short of spectacular.

Venue Availability

Monday, Tuesday, Sunday Unless a Prior Event Has Been Scheduled, the Venue will be

available anytime on these days.

Thursday MMA Cage fi ghting 2 Thursdays per month.

Check with the event coordinator to see if your Thursday date is available.

Wednesday Our comedy shows are from 9 PM until 1 AM every Wednesday.

Earlier or later events may be scheduled, depending on the type of function.

Friday & Saturday These prescheduled parties from 11PM-5AM every Friday & Saturday, these times are fi xed. Should you have a request for an event at any other time on those days feel free to contact our Events Coordinator. Also we have pent houses avalible for

small parties until late based on themes.

Monday Night Football is a 16 week addition to the Club Play South Beach weekly line-up during football season. Enjoy appetizers and draft beers while watching the game on one of our 13 screens. This event is Free to the public (21 & Up).
