Then I really thought why we were doing it? In past we had our plans and projects printed by cyclostyle method, and the printer use to say ‘one side or both side cost is same, also both side printing makes front side a bit spotty’, so we use to have on one side, we change the printing method but did not change the style, and followed blindly. Thanks Hemal, we shall surely follow as per your idea in future. We are ready for suggestions, please do not hesitate in voicing your opinion.

Fun n Frolic

A school teacher injured his back and had to wear aplaster cast around the upper part of his body. It fit under hisshirt and was not noticeable at all. On the first day of the term, still with the cast under his shirt, he found himself assigned tothe toughest students in school.

Walking confidently into the rowdy classroom, heopened the window as wide as possible and then busied himselfwith desk work. When a strong breeze made his tie flap, hetook the desk stapler and stapled the tie to his chest.

He had no trouble with discipline that term.

Two elderly gentlemen from a retirement center were sittingon a bench under a tree when one turns to the other andsays: “Slim, I’m 83 years old now and I’m just full of achesand pains. I know you’re about my age. How do you feel?”Slim says, “I feel just like a newborn baby.”“Really!? Like a newborn baby!?”“Yep. No hair, no teeth, and I think I just wet my pants.”

Adrunk that smelled like a brewery got on a bus one day. Hesat down next to a priest. The drunk’s shirt was stained, his face was full of bright red lipstick and he had a half-empty bottle of wine sticking out of his pocket. He openedhis newspaper and started reading. A couple minutes later,he asked the priest, “Father, what causes arthritis?”

“Mister, it’s caused by loose living, being with cheap, wickedwomen, too much alcohol, and contempt for your fellowman,” the priest replied.

“Imagine that,” the drunk muttered. He returned to readinghis paper.

The priest, thinking about what he had said, turned to theman and apologized: “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to come onso strong. How long have you had arthritis?”

“Idon’t have arthritis, Father,” the drunk said, “but I just readin the paper that the Pope does.”

ONLY A COG?A ring of cogs is what we at first remark in our Rotary

emblem. Many a time we have been told that they symbolizethe individual members. But to be a cog-this unpersonal andmechanical thing ! Isn’t it in some way degrading and humiliatingto be only a cog? A cog in a machinery! Doesn’t it excludeholding forth one’s own ego or personal engagement?

In Rotary, the individual has a high position - indeedthe foremost place. This individual must be a cog, thus todrive and to realize the object of service in home and workplaceas citizen in community and world.

Let us consider above all that the cogs need oil. TheMachinery of human communication needs the oil of courtesy, kindness, appreciating words, understanding, and friendship to work for a better world.”
