From The President

Hello Everybody!

Another field day in the books and I think we did pretty good this year.

We had a total of 17 people come out, including members & guests. The club

should have a nice point total between the contacts made on the radios and the

bonus points for using emergency power, receiving field day message, sending

a radiogram, having children on the air, an agency representative guest, etc.

We also had members making contacts from home that will count in part towards

the club’s total points. It looked to me as if everyone had a good time and there

was plenty to eat and drink too.

As usual I enjoyed the event and having the time to talk to other hams outside the

meetings is an important part for me. Every field day I learn a few things. This year I learned that the signal is much

louder on 75 meter phone if you remove the 20 meter band pass filter you were using earlier for 20 meter phone

contacts. DUH!

Besides that, I learned some more interesting stuff about ham radio and became a little more proficient at making

contacts.

So here's to another field day, and I'll start counting the days until our next one. Baron KI7FDU
