CANBERRA SYDNEY TRIP COMING SOON! We are very busy preparing for our Year 4, 5, 6 Excursion to Canberra and Sydney and would like to thank all parents and carers who have assisted us by returning permission notes and essential information as this needs to be sent to the bus company this week. On the first Monday back next term, students will receive a pre-order form for breakfast in Goulburn on route to Canberra. This needs to be returned with money by Wednesday 17 October. Mr Priestley and I invite all parents, carers and students to attend the information evening on Tuesday 16th October at 5:30pm in the 5/6 classroom, as vital information regarding what to bring, what not to bring and expectations during the trip will be discussed. everyone who contributed to this worthy cause. We raised $130.80. LAST CHANCE TO COMPLETE THE BYO DEVICE SURVEY We have attached the comprehensive information sheets and draft policy presented by Mr Priestley for any parents wanting further information regarding this proposed program being offered to Stage 3 students in its first year. Fruit & Veg Month Parent Survey Our school has been involved in Fruit & Veg Month 2018. The program managers, Healthy Kids Association, are seeking feedback from parents/carers about the program to help with future planning. Please take some time to fill out this short survey – https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/fruitandvegmonth2018parentsurvey The survey should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete. As an incentive, a $20 gift voucher is available for the first 70 eligible responses from across the state. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Healthy Kids Association on 02 9876 1300 or 1300 724 850. Orangutans

Since our recent film night with the screening of Saving Orangutans, a number of parents and

children have come back to us wanting to know and do more, and purchase products, especially

toys!

People can find out about adopting an orangutan or about palm oil on the following website.

https://orangutanfoundation.org.au/

With the purchase of the toys, if parents/families can send in the money to school, I am more than

happy to then deliver the toys in one bundle, rather than people individually ordering.

Please complete the order form at the end of the newsletter is you wish to purchase either of

* The Hug 'Em Baby Plush Soft Toy

Orangutan - $15 * The Orangutan Beanie Baby - $10

Thanks Stephen van Mil

P&C News This term has been very busy with many events such as the sports carnivals, Bluegrass festival and the successful movie night recently. All the funds raised have been significant and will go towards funding many great projects and facilities for the children and the school. The P&C would like to thank all the parents and carers and staff who have contributed to making this all possible, for without the input of you all, this wouldn't be possible. The next meeting will be Monday 5th November due to school holidays next month. We always welcome new faces, so come along for an informal night to discuss any fundraising ideas or new ideas that could benefit our kids and the school. Any questions or fundraising ideas you can email [email protected]. Enjoy your holiday!

Anna Douglass – President

At COOSH we programmed basketball this week and the children had an opportunity to practice their shooting skills. When they had mastered using the back board they tried

transferring what they had learned to the netball hoop, but this proved more challenging in terms of height and position. Drawing freestyle has been popular and creating imaginary future worlds was one child’s art inspiration. A number of children seem to have been away sick this week, don’t

forget we aim to offer make-up days if you miss your permanent booking. We are also taking bookings for vacation care and are happy if you simply decide to ‘rock-up’ on the day as there are usually spaces available. Hope to see you for some fun in the holidays!
