Animosity

• Hatred, ill will, strong hostility

•The animosity grew between the couple who never spared a chance to fight.

Antagonism

• Openly expressed and usually mutual opposition or the condition of being of an opposing principle.

• The antagonism between the two parties grew to an extent that violence became mundane in their debates.

Bellicose

• Demonstrating aggression and willingness to fight.

• The president’s bellicose speech caused a war between the two nations.

Belligerent

• Hostile, aggressive, or showing readiness to fight.

• Juan’s belligerence always results in quarrels with her teachers.

Cantankerous

• Bad-tempered or irritable; quarrelsome.

• Cantankerous children are the hardest to deal with; they are stubborn and easily lose their temper.

Captious

• marked by an often ill-natured inclination to stress faults and raise objections.

• Tina’s captious nature irritated her husband, who is always criticized by her.

Contentious

•Causing or likely to cause an argument.

•You can’t talk to the contentious old lady without getting into an argument.

Disputatious

• The act of disputing ,debate or argument

• Our disputatious neighbor is always finding something to complain and argue about.

Polemical

• A controversial argument, especially one refuting or attacking a specific opinion .

• He also launched a powerful polemical against the growing movement for us intervention in Mexico.

Predator

• One that preys , destroy ,or devours

• Investigate their social lives and how they defended themselves against those fearsome predators was a success.

Pugnacious

• Combative in nature; ready to fight.

• Because the pugnacious actor argues with everyone, it is hard for him to find work.

altruistic

• unselfishly concerned for or devoted to the  welfare of others.

• An altruistic firefighter risks his life to save another's life.

benevolent

• showing or motivated by sympathy ,understanding and generosity

• If your teacher collects homework with a benevolent smile, she's hoping that you've done a good job.

largess

• a gift or money given.

• He used of great largess when he gave money to the poor.

Lavish

• giving or using a large amount of something

• This cook is lavish with spices.

Magnanimous

• Showing or suggesting nobility of feeling and generosity of mind.

• She was too magnanimous to resent all the things others had said to her.

Munificent

• a very generous person, or a person or a gift that is more generous than necessary.

• The munificent gift was presented to the bride by her rich uncle.

Philanthropic

• Of, relating to, or marked by philanthropy; humanitarian

• His goals are mainly philanthropic social and international.

Prodigal

• characterized by profuse or wasteful expenditure

• the prodigal teenager always spent her allowance the minute

she got it

•to use (something) in a foolish or wasteful way

•He squandered all his money gambling in casinos.
