Cluster 9 Returned Home, Cleanup of 97 Homes Completed to Date
The!goals!of!the!Los!Angeles!Regional!Water!Quality!Control!Board’s!(Regional!Board)!site!cleanup!program!are! to! protect! and! restore! water! resources! and! establish! cleanup! goals! to! protect! human! health,! water!quality,!and!the!environment,!today!and!into!the!future.!!!To!ensure!the!Carousel!Tract!cleanup!process!meets!its!goals,!the!Regional!Board!is!overseeing!remediation!activities!and!will!continue!to!move!forward!with!the!final!steps!for!a!comprehensive!cleanup.!!
Here!are!highlights!of!the!latest!progress!in!the!Carousel!Tract!Cleanup:!!• Cleanup!of!Cluster)9!properties!is!complete!and!residents!returned!home!at!the!beginning!of!the!year.!
With!Cluster!9!finished,!34%!of!the!cleanup!is!complete.!• Remedial!activities!in!Cluster)10!are!nearing!completion!and!some!properties!have!already!been!turned!
over!to!the!restoration/landscaping!contractors.!Due!to!several!rain!events!in!January!and!February,!remedial!activities!were!delayed!two!weeks.!The!schedule!for!Cluster!10!residents!to!move!back!into!their!homes!has!changed!to!the!week!of!April!22S26.!!Scheduled!dates!for!Cluster)11!and!subsequent!clusters!have!not!changed.!
• Cluster)11!Residents!moved!out!during!the!week!of!February!4th!and!remediation!is!in!progress.!

It’s! an! informal! setting! for! you! to! drop! by! to! ask!questions,! raise! concerns,! or! share! experiences! about! the! cleanup! activity,! oneSonSone! with! the!Regional! Board! Team.!! No! appointment! is! necessary.! This! event! coincides! with! the! Carousel!Neighborhood!Restoration!Open!House.!
