    Things you will need

    1. Phillips screw driver (looks like this on the tip + )2. A jack, or a stick or 1x1 board, anything that will be able to prop the cltch ar! in place to give yo slack onthe cable (yo"ll see what # !ean)$. A %lashlight&. A %riend to step on the cltch pedal a %ew ti!es while yo see where the cltch cable is in the engineco!part!ent (i% yo don"t know what the cable looks like)

Note: This DIY looks extremely long and may look intimidating, but it's long because I tried to makesure I didn't leave anything out. I may have reeated mysel! once or twice, or said something obviousor redundant. Disregard it, and get this done" You will be roud o! yoursel!, it really is worth thetrouble.#y the way, do yoursel! a !avor and rint this out in large text so you can re!er to it while your doingthe ro$ect.

    1. 'irst o% all, slide the drivers seat all the way back, and take ot %loor!ats. 'lip the hood p and prop it.

    2. et a %riend to step on the cltch pedal a %ew ti!es so yo can see exactly where the cltch cable is, and the

    ar! it connects to.

$. his is where the jack, or board co!es in. *nce yo %ind the cltch ar! the cltch cable connects to, yo willwant to get nderneath the %ront o% the car and prop the jackboardstick so the cltch ar! stays li%ted p. henyo are propping (especially with a jack) take care not to pt pressre on the trans!ission, jst the cltch ar!.

&. *nce the cltch ar! is propped p, yo can see connected to the ar!, a rectanglar piece o% black rbber, anda si!iliar shaped piece o% !etal with a slit in it. he slit is where the cltch cable end slides on to. -#nce yo haveenogh slack %ro! the ar! being propped p, yo can easily slide the !etal piece ot and pll the rbber pieceot. o will need these again, don"t lose the!.

/. *nce that is taken o%%, yo will want to get nderneath the drivers side dash, jst nder the steering wheel.here will be $ separate things yo need to take ot nderneath there be%ore yo can access the top o% the cltchcable. o will also want to pll down the %se box as well. #t"s all !ch easier than it sonds. he larger piece(don"t know what the appropriate na!e is %or it) that yor knees hit when yor driving will need to be taken ot%irst. here are &0/ screws holding this in place, located directly nderneath it. ake the screws ot and then slidethe entire piece directly down towards the %loor.

. ow that it"s ot o% the way, yo will want to take ot a %li!sy piece o% plastic located jst nderneath the %sebox. here are only a cople screws holding this in, it co!es ot very easy.

    3. -ince that is ot o% the way, yo"ll be able to better see the %se box. *n the sides o% the %se box, yo will seea grey tab on each side that yo %lip p. *nce yo have %lipped these p, the %se box is re!oved by li%tingstraight p on it (towards the ceiling) and then yo can lay it on the %loor or let it dangle.

    4. hat wasn"t so hard was it5 his next step is the biggest hassle o% the project, this is where little hands and a%lashlight win the day. or going to want to shine yor %lashlight p to the top o% the cltch pedal. here yo willsee a plastic hosing on the le%t side o% the pedal, and it goes p and arond the pedal. -hine the %lashlight onthe le%t side o% the plastic hosing. o will see 2 slots where the plastic hosing connects to a !etal hosing.he plastic hosing co!es ot, the !etal stays. his plastic piece is re!oved by sliding the piece straight p.(towards the celing) o don"t need to pry, prod or jab at it with yor screwdriver, it co!es right ot. *nce it isslid ot o% those two tabs, yo"ll want to !ove the plastic hosing ntil yo see a 6iptie looking thing on the sideo% it, this rondish looking gide shold be holding on to 2 wire clsters. o don"t need to ct this, jst psh onit with yor screwdriver to release the 2 wire clsters. A%ter that, yo will want to !ove the plastic hosing to thele%t to re!ove it. #t will !ost likely catch on the !etal hosings lip. #t"ll take a %ew !intes to negotiate it ot o%

there, jst don"t break it, it will co!e ot.

7898: #t %inally ca!e ot. #"! sre at this point yo"ve created so!e new crse words, and there shold be agrop o% people standing arond yo and yor car gaping in disbelie%. Pain in the arse wasn"t it5

;. his is where yor %riend will co!e in handy again. -ince yo"ve disconnected the cltch cable %ro! the cltchar!, yo can get hi!her to psh the tip o% the cable towards yo (towards the cable) to slack the cable as !chas possible in yor %avor.

keep wiggling it p and towards yo. #t takes a %ew bt yo"ll eventally get it. Again # say, se yor le%t hand todo all the work, it"s the easiest.

1>. ow yo"ve disconnected the cable %ro! the ar!, and yo can go back in to the engine co!part!ent and pllthe rbber gro!!et on the cltch cable ot o% the %irewall (the !etal that separates the engine bay and theinside o% the car). iggle it back and %orth while plling to get it ot. *nce it"s ot throw that scka as %ar aspossible.

    11. ow in goes the new cable. #t"s all down hill %ro! here, since yo know the steps in taking it ot, it"s exactlythe sa!e going in. #t"s easier to connect the cable to the cltch pedal 78 connect it to the cltch ar!, trst!e. o to the engine co!part!ent, and psh the littel rbber gro!!et on the cltch cable back in the %irewall, twist and psh twist and psh till it goes in. ?ake sre it actally snaps in there, it has a lip so it will actallysnap in. Pll it a %ew ti!es to !ake sre yo got it in there properly.

    12. ow go back in to the car nderneath the dash and gide the cable back in. #t goes in the exactly the sa!eway it ca!e ot. o have to get slack again %ro! yor %riend pshing on the other end o% the cable. Pll theslack towards yo, and with yor le%t hand, pll the line so it loops down towards the groove in the top o% thepedal. here are two slots on the pedal, which con%sed !e at %irst. o want to pt the cable in the pper one.(or the one closer to the engine bay i% that helps yo.) Pictre this@ 7old yor le%t straight ot with yor pal! tothe sky. ow i!agine a cable going throgh yor hand !aking a %ist, with yor pal! still %acing the sky. ow trnyor %ist clockwise so the cable that was co!ing %ro! the le%t to right, is now co!ing %ro! the le%t, and beingroted downwards. hat"s the best # can explain what yo"ll want to do with the cable nderneath so it goes in tothat groove s!oothly.

1$. (be%ore yo start this step, !ake sre yor new cables rbber gro!!et connected to the cable is tightlypshed in to the %irewall so yo have plenty o% slack) ow that yo"ve snapped the ha!!er looking end o% thecable in to the cltch pedal, yo"ll want to go back to the engine co!part!ent, and connect the other end to thecltch ar!. Ass!ing yo still have a jack or stick holding the cltch ar! pwards (so yo have !ore slack towork with) grab the rectanglar !etal and rbber piece yo took ot be%ore. he rbber piece goes in %irstnderneath the ar! and snaps in to a hole on the cltch ar!. ow gide the cltch cable end throgh the cltchar! and the rbber piece. ow grab the !etal piece, and pt it nderneath the rbber, and with yor other handpll the slack o% the cable downwards, so yo can slide the cable end throgh the groove on the !etal piece.*nce that is done, wiggle it arond so yo know it"s set properly, it shold all line p.

Note: %t this oint you can now remove the $ack, stick, bar or whatever you used to ro u theclutch arm.

1&. ow that yo have it installed, psh the cltch back and %orth a %ew ti!es to !ake sre it %eels ok. o canadjst later, yo jst need to !ake sre the cable is installed %ine. ow all yo have to do is reasse!ble the !ess

yo !ade nderneath the steering wheel. #t all goes back in the sa!e way it ca!e ot. 'irst pt the plastichosing back in the way it ca!e ot. *nce it"s abot in the right spot, snap it back in to the hosing itdisconnected %ro!. here is a slot that yo saw earlier with the %lashlight, and another directly above the pedal,

jst !ake sre they psh in and lock together, then lock in the side one that connects to the !etal hosing. *ncethis is done, psh the pedal back and %orth and !ake sre it"s not rbbing on the side, or pper part o% thehosing. #% it is rbbing, psh arond the plastic hosing ntil yo get it to stop rbbing, and !ake sre it"slocked in to place on the side, and at the top. ow rote the 2 cables yo took ot earlier, back throgh theplastic hosing so they are not dangling by yor %eet.

1/. ot rbbing5 ood: ow yo can pt the %se box back. 9e!e!ber it drops in to 2 !etal slots, and then yosnap the 2 grey tabs over the !etal nbs it sits on. Pt back the %li!sy plastic piece back over the %se box, 2screws go in here. hen !ont the large piece that yor knees hit when yo drive. (wish # knew the proper na!e%or that thing) #t slides in and snaps in place on the top, line it p, then pt the &0/ screws back in.

    1. ow that it"s all back together, psh the pedal back and %orth to see i% it"s where yo like it. #t shold need

so!e adjsting bt this is the easiest part. #% it"s too loose, or too tight (disengages too high or too low) go towhere the cable connects to the cltch ar!, losen the little gold nt yo see there, and then spin the rondrbber piece directly below it. Play with it ntil it is where yo like it. # adjsted !ine to where there"s abot 2inches o% play when yo psh on the cltch ntil it actally starts to engage.*8@
