CMP SERIES SUBMERSIBLE HEAVY DUTY SPEAKER MICROPHONE Always switch the radio off before attaching the remote speaker microphone. 1. PTT Switch: Push this switch to transmit and release to receive. 2. Microphone: When transmitting, talk slowly and clearly holding the microphone about 5cm away from your mouth. 3. Revolving Clip: Used to attach the speaker microphone to a pocket or collar. The clip may be rotated to one of 8 locking positions to aid attachment. 4. Speaker: Used to listen to a transmission. Care should be taken when holding the speaker to your ear as high volumes are possible. 5. Connector: Insert fully into the transceiver jack and fasten the connector. Always disconnect your speaker microphone with care as undue force may damage it. 6. 3.5 mm mono jack socket for earpiece connector e.g. Entel EHP9 earpiece (supplied separately). To use, unscrew the ear jack locking screw and insert the accessory. 7. Cleaning your CMP: After exposure to any potentially corrosive substance including salt water, it is recommended to thoroughly wash the speaker microphone in fresh water. It is important to ensure that the Ear Jack Locking Screw is firmly in place during this process. After washing, the unit will require vigorous shaking in order to dispel the water from the speaker grill. Do not wash the unit if you suspect the waterproofing seal may be damaged and return to your supplier for inspection/repair. If the speaker mic has been detached from the radio for cleaning, please protect the connector end from exposure to water. Note: The submersible warranty of this speaker microphone is only valid when the ear jack locking screw is firmly in place. This unit is not submersible whilst an earpiece device is attached through the ear jack socket. When not using an earpiece we strongly advise keeping the ear jack locking screw fitted to prevent water ingress and foreign objects from getting inside the socket.
