About the Conference

Participation

Since the first introduction at Harvard University in 1908,

the MBA as a formal degree, has witnessed significant

changes in terms of its objectives, scope and character.

Once considered essential for managing manufacturing

processes scientifically, the degree is now one of the

most flexible and generic when it comes to trained leader-

ship and management need. Even one may now see

increasing number of management graduates finding

place in many non-profit and other organizations, which

were earlier not considered relevant for MBA. This implies

the growing acceptability of the skills, knowledge and

attitude set delivered through the multi-disciplinary MBA

programme. However, this also possesses a challenge in

terms of balancing the academic requirements to meet

To map students’ perspectives of MBA programme;

To discuss content, pedagogy and contextual require-

ments of an MBA programme;

To explore corporate expectations from MBA graduates;

To brainstorm the possible ways of improving quality of

MBA with emphasis on research.

The paper should comprise abstract, introduction, research questions/ Objectives/ Hypothesis, Literature review, Research Methodology and findings.Abstract should not exceed 300 words with Key- words.Font -Time New Roman, font size 12, Line Spacing 1.5 and document size A4.

Full length paper including abstract should not exceed 3000 words.

Selected papers/articles will be considered for publication in CMR Journal Special Issue ISSN-2395-2083.

ment education, which comprises of undergraduate,

postgraduate and research degrees, requires continuous

research-focused action to improve its’ quality. While

celebrating 111 years of successful journey of MBA as an

academic programme, CMR Group of Institutions and

CMR University establishes a conference series ‘CMR

Management Education Conference (CMR-MEC)’, which

will be an annual scholarly event with the aim of enhanc-

ing quality and relevance of management education. This

year, the conference theme is ‘MBA Journey 111: Emerging

Opportunities and Challenges’.

CMR Centre for Business Studies (Est.2009) is a Flagship Institute of CMR Group of

The CMR Jnanadhara Trust was established in 1990 as a tribute to the Late Sri Chikka Muni-

yappa Reddy, a visionary educationalist and philanthropist who believed that every individu-

al deserves an education. He dreamt of bringing quality education to the masses. The

Journey started with establishment of the National Junior School (now CMR National Public

School) in 1991.

It has seven schools, four Pre-University colleges and eighteen institutions of higher educa-

tion. It has Centres of Excellence and Research in di�erent fields in all its institutions. CMR

University is the latest entrant into the CMR education space with a vision to nurture creative
