BUYERS INFORMATION

Premium and Sales Tax Bidders are reminded that the purchase price payable by all successful bidders shall be the sum of the hammer price and a premium of 10%. In addition, buyers are required to pay any sales tax which may be due.

Reserves The seller's reserve price is the confidential minimum below which the lot will not be sold. This reserve will not exceed the low estimate published in the catalog.

Mail Bidder Protection You may submit bids with confidence. If competition permits, your bids will be executed at the reserve or at 10% over the next bid.

Prices Realized The list of prices realized at the auction will be published shortly after the sale and will be available upon request. Lots which fail to reach reserve price or which are withdrawn will not appear in the printed prices realized.

Services Catalog Description - The catalog description represents Classical Numismatic Auctions, Ltd.'s indépendant opinion of the article concerned. Every effort has been made to insure accuracy of attribution. The grading is considered to be conservative.

Advice to Bidders - Our staff will provide you with any information at their disposal to help you in arriving at an informed bid.

Price Es t imates - Careful examination has gone into estimating the values of the lots for the sale. The estimates represent ranges in which we expect the lot to sell. They are not defintive. They are prepared well in advance of the sale.

Cata logs and Viewing - Catalogs are mailed well in advance of the sale so as to arrive at least three weeks prior to the sale. Special viewing of the lots can be arranged at our offices in Quarryville, PA. Lots will be available for viewing in the city of the sale at least two days prior to the sale, consult viewing schedule at the beginning of the sale. Usually at least one major city showing will be arranged during the month prior to the sale to give out of town viewers an opportunity to view.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. This is a public auction conducted by licensed and bonded auctioneers. The auction is conducted under the laws of the state in which the auction is held. The buyer submits to the jurisdiction of the courts of such state.

2. The property listed in this catalog is offered for sale by Classical Numismatic Auctions, Ltd. as agents for various owners and other consignors.

3. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. The auctioneer has the right to reject any bid and to advance the bidding at his absolute discretion. In the event of any dispute, the auctioneer has the right to determine the successful bidder or to reoffer and resell the disputed item. All items will be sold in the order in which they appear in the catalog.

4. Classical Numismatic Auctions, Ltd. reserves the right to withdraw any lot before or at the sale.

6. Auction sales are not approval sales. Any lot may be examined before bidding. No lot may be returned by a mail bidder without the advance written permission of Classical Numismatic Auctions, Ltd.. Any such requests must be made within three days of receipt of the coins. Late remittance of payment is cause for negation of this privilege. Participation in this auction is at the sole discretion of Classical Numismatic Auctions, Ltd.

7. No lots may be returned by floor bidders for any reason, except for reasons of authenticity. Floor bidders acting as agents for third parties are reminded that this rule also applies to them. All floor sales are final.

8. The purchase price payable by the buyer shall be the sum of the final bid and a premium of 10% of the final bid. Applicable sales tax will be added to the invoice. Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the final invoice for all mail bidders.

9. Bids which are submitted to Classical Numismatic Auctions, Ltd. in writing or otherwise prior to the sale will be executed at or below the maximum limit of the bid. No buy orders will be accepted. You may bid confidently. Coins will be purchased as inexpensively as the book/floor bidding will allow. Your bids will be executed at the reserve or at 10% over the highest bid on the book. Reserves are set at least five days prior to the auction. Bids under 60% of low estimate will not be accepted from mail bidders. It is possible for lots to sell under 60% on the floor. Bid in even dollar amounts only.

10. Payment terms are strictly cash in U.S. funds. All lots remain the property of Classical Numismatic Auctions, Ltd. until payment in full has been made. Accounts outstanding 28 days after the sale are subject to interest charges in the amount of 1.5% per month compounded monthly.

11. Check your bid sheets carefully. The seller cannot assume responsibilty for any errors made by bidders.

12. Bidding in this auction constitutes acceptance of the above terms.

($13,500 +) Minted at Tarentum, in southern Italy, during Alexander's fatal campaigns. This extremely rare coin has apparently not been sold at public auction this century. It is possibly only the fifth known specimen. This coin comes with tremendous documentation tracing it back to when it was found in the twenties in Italy. The documentation is reproduced here for your inspection and will become the property of the next
