Modeling 3D

• Modeling in rhino 3.0• For the CNC you have to

cut the pieces in a simetric half and put in a base.

Page 3: Cnc Steps

When you have your object on the base you will have to convert to Poligon meshes. Then you select only the meshes and go to Export selection as .stl file format.

Validation and notes:

Step 1: Got to Viscamview program, to determine if all meshes and joints are correct.

Page 7: Cnc Steps

Viscam View:

In the program you will see by color if The elements or modelings are correct.

Functions in the software are helpful tools, you can make notations to consider in your design: text, dimension, meshes, joints, etc….

Page 8: Cnc Steps

At the end if your modeling is correct, export it to the format or save it in STL and open it in Roland Modela player 4 to start with the rapid prototiping.

If any error exist on your object the correction or modifying element must be changed in rhino.

We use MDF for modeling our hammers, the size was 40cm X 60 cm and this is the maximum area of the CNC table.

It is important to leave a small piece to attach the MDF to the table.

Page 22: Cnc Steps

• When your MDF is ready and also the program upload in the computer. You can start with the rapid prototyping.

The time of the process depends on the complexity of your model .

Check your process to be sure that everything is ok.
