    Learnings from the UK and Ghana experiences

    London Ghana CSOs formed a network; nominated a coordinatorto facilitate engagement World Bank supported

    Lead OGP officials facilitated engagement bypolicy officials (legislators)

    CSOs formed a network; Steering committee composed ofgovernment and CSO reps was established

    Ensured adequate staff to see through Plan

    development and monitoring (from governmentand CSO)

    Steering committee went on a retreat to establishthemselves as a team

    Conducted regular meetings; alternate chairingbetween government and CSO

    Steering committee contracted a consulting group to draftthe Plan

    Utilized web-based tools (Google Docs, webinarplatforms, email list, and blogs

    Next steps: review membership of Steering Committee,engage media to popularize the Plan

    Now exploring ways to ensure that the UKGeneral Election in May 2015 results in more, notless, momentum for the open governmentmovement and currently crowdsourcing an opengovernment manifesto. first draft of a plan nowposted in their CSO website

    The Steering committee already launchedthe Public Consultations Programme for National ActionPlanunder the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Ghana-Initiative. The series of consultations is now rolling
