Co-Curricular and Extra Curricular Activities
Workshop on Robotics and Mobile Making
The Dept. had organized two days’ workshop on Robotics and Mobile Making, on 4th
and 5th of November, 2019 for the students of 3rd and 5th semester. This workshop was
conducted in association with SYMPOSIUM-2019-International Level Workshop Series
by IIT, Mumbai. The objective of this workshop was to make the students aware about
the trending and most demanded technology and to make them technically confident so
that they can explore new avenues of knowledge. This workshop also intended to
introduce students to functioning of a mobile and the components used to build a mobile
and also to construct a robot and control its movement. The resource person for the
workshop was Mr. Ashish Patil, Design Engineer, Indian Tech Group.
Project Exhibition-2019
The Project Exhibition was conducted by the Department of Electronics &
Instrumentation Engineering on 11th May, 2019. The main aim of this exhibition is to
showcase the innovations and creativity through their final year projects. There are 11
final year projects and 10 mini projects exhibited on that day and these projects were
evaluated by Dr. S C Prasanna Kumar, Professor, Dept. of EIE., RVCE, Bengaluru and
Mr. Kotresh Kumar, Digital shark technology, Bengaluru who are experts from academia
and industry.
PARENTS‟ TEACHERS‟ MEETING
The Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering organized the Parents‟
Teachers‟ meeting on Saturday, 11th
May, 2019 from 11.00 AM to 1PM. This meeting was
attended by parents of 2nd
, 4th
, 6th
& 8th
semester students. Around 30 parents attended the
Meeting. Dr. D. MaheshKumar, Head of the Department, welcomed the gathering and gave a
brief overview of the Department profile and its activities of the ongoing semester to the parents.
The Objectives of the meeting were to discuss about students‟ attendance status, students‟
academic performance, activities and achievements of the Department and also to take
suggestions from parents.
Workshop on IOT and Embedded System Design
The Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering and the Dept. of Electronics &
Instrumentation Engineering, JSSATE, Bengaluru had organized two days‟ hands on
Workshop on IOT and Embedded System Design, on 12th
and 13th
of April, 2019 for the
students of 6th
semester. The objective of this workshop was to provide the students the basic
knowledge about the Essentials of Embedded system and to give an overview of TI Internet of
Things. The resource persons for the workshop were Mr. Basavana Gouda, Sr. Application
Engineer, Mr. Mohan H M, Sr. Application Engineer, Mr. Rajesh, Application Engineer and
Mr. Shivaraj, Application Engineer from Digital Shark Technology Private Limited,
Bengaluru.
“Vote for India” – A Rally to create Public Awareness
The Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering organized “Vote for
India”- A Rally to create public awareness under its socio-welfare unit “ABHYUDAYA”.
The objective of this rally was to inform the public and society about the necessity and
importance of casting their valuable vote.
The rally was inaugurated by Dr. Mrityunjaya V Latte, Principal, JSSATE, Bengaluru,
followed by a street play performance by the “Meraki” Team (a Drama troupe of JSSATEB). All
the students took an oath to cast their vote compulsorily.
The rally started at 10.00AM from JSSATE-B Campus, Dr.Vishnuvardhan road and
proceeded towards Channasandra and ended at Jayanna Circle via BEML Layout, Rajarajeshwari
Nagar. The participants of the rally conveyed the people and public on the way to cast their vote
without fail on April 18th
, 2019. Placards depicting the importance of voting, our duty as a
citizen of India and the right to vote were also carried to create awareness amongst the people.
The students also created more impact with their energetic slogans.
ANANTHAM-19
The Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, JSSATE, Bengaluru had
organized a two days‟ Techno-cultural Fest ANANTHAM-19, on 6th
and 7th
of March, 2019.
This fest is held every year in the Department. This fest was organized in association with Indian
Society for Technical Education. The objective of this fest was to bring students of various
streams from different institutions to interact and share their innovative ideas, knowledge and
technical skills. The Inauguration was held at 9:30 AM on 6th
March, 2019. The Chief Guest of
the programme was Mr. Nitin Awasthi, Director Technical, APSIS Solutions, Bengaluru.
The inauguration was followed by the events like Tech Quiz, Circuit Debugging, Tech
Crosswords, C Programming, Pubg, Food Quiz, Beg Borrow Steal, Mock IPL, Tech
Spellbee, Logo Quiz, Minute to Win it, Mini cricket, 4 pics 1 word. The day ended with fun
and frolic. Day-2 of the fest, i.e. 7th
of March, 2019 kick started with the events Tech Debate
and Carrom. This was followed by events like Counter Strike Go, Mobile Photography, Tech
Jam, Paper Presentation, Game of shows, Solo Dance, Tech Hunt and Mock Placement.
The events were judged by faculties from other Departments who are experts in the relevant
field. Cash prizes and certificates were distributed to all the winners and runners of the events.
There were more than four hundred participants from other colleges like RNSIT, DBIT,
KSSEM, GAT, DSCE etc. The fest was concluded with cultural dance performances by
students of all the semesters of the Department. The fest was a memorable event and it was a
grand success.
Orientation Workshop on „Aircraft and Aerospace Engineering‟
A three days student orientation workshop on “Aircraft & Aerospace Engineering” was
organized from 21st – 23
rd February 2019, by the departments of E&IE, Mechanical
Engineering, E&CE and IEM. The workshop was conducted by „Centre of Excellence in
Aerospace & Defence‟ in Association with Department of IT, BT, S&T, Govt. of Karnataka,
VTU and Dassault Systems Inc., Bengaluru. A total of 162 students participated in the
workshop. The workshop was inaugurated on 21st Feb 2019 by Dr. K Badari Narayana, a
retired person from ISRO and UTC, Inc. Principal.
IDEATHON-18
The Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, JSSATE, Bengaluru had
organized a one day technical event IDEATHON-18, on 14th
of November, 2018. This event
was organized in association with Indian Society for Technical Education. IDEATHON is a
short, intensive, brain-storming one day experience for all the students of JSSATE that
challenges participants to address real world problems through innovation. The objective of this
event was to bring students of various streams to interact and share their innovative ideas,
knowledge and technical skills. The Inauguration was held at 10:00 AM on 14th November,
2018. The Chief Guests of the programme were Dr. Netaji M, Chief Research Scientist, IISc,
Bengaluru and Dr. Sangappa S B, National Executive Council Member, ISTE, New Delhi. Dr. C
Ranganathiah, Director (A&A), JSSMVP, Mysuru was presiding over the function. The
inauguration was followed by the presentation of the ideas by the students. We had received a
total of 70 ideas from all the branches of JSSATE, Bengaluru. After the review process, 61
ideas were accepted. The selected ideas were scheduled for presentations in the event. The
presentations were scheduled in 4 tracks and each session was reviewed by two Judges. Cash
prizes and certificates were distributed to all the winners and participants of the event by the
Principal.
PARENTS’-TEACHERS’MEETING
The Parents’-Teachers’ meeting was organized on 03rd of March 2018, at 11:30AM in
the Department. The meeting was attended by parents of 2nd, 4th and 6th semester students.
Around 30 members were present in the meeting. The agenda of the meeting was to discuss
students’ attendance status, students’ academic performance and activities and achievements of
the Department. The meeting was interactive as there was an opportunity for the exchange of
ideas between the parents and the faculty.
International Conference on Signal, Image Processing, Communication & Automation (ICSIPCA-2017)
The International conference ICSIPCA- 2017 was jointly organized by the Departments
of Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering
on 6th and 7th July 2017. The first International Conference on Signal, Image Processing,
Communication and Automation – (ICSIPCA- 2017) was a technical event sponsored by IEEE-
Bengaluru section and supported by ISTE-Indian Society for Technical Education and IDES-
Institute of Doctors, Engineers and Scientists.
The aim of this conference was to provide an interdisciplinary forum for Researchers,
Engineers and Students to discuss and promote research and technology transfer of Information
on Signal, Image Processing, Communication and Automation. This conference was focused on
promoting, developing and organizing associations and networks of Academicians, Engineers
and Professionals and also to make faculty indulge in high end research in the relevant fields.
Keynote address, Plenary Sessions and paper presentations from authors were a part of
ICSPICA-2017.
GO GREEN CAMPAIGN
The Socio-Welfare Unit of the Dept. “ABHYUDAYA” organized “GO GREEN CAMPAIGN” on 5th
of June,
2017 on the occasion of WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY. The objective was to plant saplings in JSSATE so
that the campus is eco-friendly. Principal Dr. Mrityunjaya V Latte inaugurated this Green Drive by planting a
sapling. Around 85 saplings of Honge and Neem were planted in the campus.

PROJECT EXHIBITION-17
An open Day project Exhibition was held in the department on 26th
of May, 2017. All the final year students
participated by exhibiting their respective batches’ projects and prototypes. The judges were Dr. S Niranjan
Assoc. Professor, Manipal University and Mrs. Sharadha Dhambal, Alumni of the Dept. Cash prizes were
given to the winners.
ABHYUDAYA
The Socio-Welfare unit of the Department “ABHYUDAYA”, was inaugurated on 5th
April, 2017 by the
Principal Dr. Mrityunjaya V. Latte.
ANANTHAM-17
The Dept. of E&IE. conducted ANANTHAM’17, which was a two days’ technical fest that is held every year.
It was held on 5th
& 6th
of April 2017. The Inauguration was held at 9:00 AM. The Chief Guest for the
programme was Dr. Subramani Ramakrishnan, Location Head, IBM, Chennai and Mrs. Vaijayanthi S., Campus
Programme Lead, IBM, Chennai. The programme was presided by the Principal Dr. Mrityunjaya V. Latte. The
inauguration was followed by the Technical events like Paper Presentation, Technical Quiz, Circuit Debugging,
Colour Coding, Speak-A-Tech, C-Programming, Tech-Hunt, Tech Jam etc. The events were judged by other
department faculty experts in the related field. Prize money along with the certificates was given to all the
winners of the events. There were more than fifty participants from various colleges.
DEPARTMENT ADVISORY BOARD MEETING
The Department Advisory Board Meeting was organized in the department on 22nd
October 2016 from
9:30AM to 11:00AM. Dr. D. Mahesh Kumar, HOD & Convener, Dr. S.C Prasanna Kumar, Professor Dept. of
E&IE, RVCE, Bengaluru, Dr. D.Jayadevappa, Professor, Dept. of E&IE, JSSATEB, Mr. Krishnamurthy
Kulkarni, Industry Representative, Mr. Raja Chendur, Parent, Ms. Roshni Maheshwari, Student, Dept. of
E&IE, and other faculties of the Department were present in the meeting. Students’ academic status, Syllabus,
NBA activities, projects, Industrial Interactions were a few major concerns of the meeting.
13th
State Level ISTE Student Convention
On the occasion of Birth Centenary Celebrations of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Dr. Shivarathri Rajendra
Mahaswamiji, the 13th
State Level ISTE Students’ Annual Convention “E-Pravarthana-2K16” was organized
by the Department on 25th
August 2016. The convention was inaugurated by Prof. Pratap Sinha K Desai,
President, ISTE, New Delhi. The Chief Guest of the function was Mr. Kurien K Eapen, Competency Head,
Wipro Pvt. Ltd.
The convention was attended by more than 600 hundred students from various Engineering and Diploma
colleges across the state & participated in many events and won the prizes. The program was concluded by
prize distribution to winners of various events followed by cultural program.
Techno-Cultural Fest
Dept. of E&IE, conducted ANANTHAM’16 under INSTRA (Department Students’ Association), which is a
two days technical fest that is held every year. It was held on 16th
& 17th
of March 2016. The Chief Guest for
the inauguration programme was Mr. Naveenchandra, Sr. Manager, LRU-MRO, Helicopter Division, HAL,
Bengaluru. The other dignitaries present were Dr.B.T.Nijaguna, Professor Emeritus, Dr. Mrithyunjaya V Latte,
Principal and Dr.D.Mahesh Kumar, HOD, Dept. of E&IE. The inauguration was followed by technical events
like Paper presentation, Tech-Quiz, Tech-charades, Circuit debugging, Group discussion, Colour coding, 2048,
Speak-A-Tech, C-Programming, Logo Mania, Tech Hunt, Techxting, Pixellatte & Tech-rangoli. All the
students and staff of the department were present in the event.
