CO-OP TRAINING Orientation May 8th, 2012
WHAT IS CO-OP TRAINING?
� It is a program where students apply the knowledge gained in classrooms into the work field. They will be able to accumulate more real world skills and experience.
REQUIREMENTS
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
� CCIS students who have completed and passed all level 7 core and elective courses.
� Pass Co-op organization's interview.
� It is the student's responsibility to make sure that the requirements are met.
� Students who have been accepted into the program must start and complete their training as scheduled.
DURATION AND TRAINING PERIOD
DURATION
� Students must complete a minimum of (120) work hours.

DEADLINE FOR SUMMER 2012
� Saturday, May 12th, 2012 Last day accepting “Co-Op Training Admission Applications” � If you can’s find your academic advisor, then
hand it to the Co-Op Office secretary.
REGISTRATION
� Applications will be accepted during the whole year except during Summer.
� Announcements will be made for the exact dates.
� The student must make sure that the Co-op course is registered when she starts her Co-Op semester.
PROCEDURES
Co-Op Training Tracks

TRACK ONE
TRACK ONE REQUIREMENTS
� GPA of 3 or above. � Pass Co-op organization's interview.
� It is the student's responsibility to make sure that the requirements are met.
� Students who have been accepted into the program must start and complete their training as scheduled.
� Students must fill out completely and accurately the "Co-op Training Admission Form".
� The form submission doesn’t necessarily mean the student is accepted into the program.
� Students must attach a copy of the their academic transcript.
� Students must attach their resume in English and Arabic.
� Students must attach their Guardian’s consent.
� Students must hand all documents attached with the form to the Co-Op Training department.
� The Co-Op coordinator will accept or reject your application based on the criteria: � GPA � Completed Credits � English language � Personal conduct
� Students will wait for an announcement regarding their acceptance and training organization.
TRACK TWO
� Students are fully responsible in searching for an organization and getting their initial approval for training.
� Students must present the Co-Op office with all the details: � Complete contact information of the organization. � Organization’s training plan. � Training must be in computer and information science
field.
� Students will wait for an announcement regarding

AFTER ANNOUNCEMENT
� Students are responsible in acquiring the attendance and evaluation forms from the Co-Op office and giving it to their training supervisor.
EVALUATION
DAILY
� Attendance Report
� An attendance report will be given to the training organization to record your daily attendance.
WEEKLY
� Accomplished Tasks Report � Students are required to fill a form with their
accomplished tasks, meetings, new skills, and any problems they have faced during this week.
� It must be signed by their co-op supervisor at the organization.
FINAL EVALUATION
� Student Final Report � Students are committed to presenting a complete report
which includes 4 sections:
I. Organization: 1. History 2. Vision Statement 3. Mission Statement 4. Information (Size, field, products,..)

1. Weekly Reports
AFTER CO-OP TRAINING
� Students must hand-in their final report at the beginning of the new semester to the Co-Op Training office.
� Student must hand-in their organization evaluation sealed envelope to the Co-Op Training office.
� A date will be set for the presentation and discussion of their training.
GRADING
� The students grade is made of the following:
� The organization's evaluation is 80% of the student’s grade.
� The University will be responsible for 20% of the student's grade. � 10% Student Report
� 10% Discussion
� Students who fail to present their report on time will be given a chance to reschedule their presentation.
� Students who receive a failing score must register again for the course and start the Co-op process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
� Students are ambassadors of the University and must dress and act professionally to enhance the image of the University and future graduates.
� If students aren't assigned any schedules then they must notify their Co-op advisor.
� Students must be aware not to be always assigned clerical or non-related tasks.
� Students are in a learning environment and must try and acquire knowledge through observations and practice.
� Students should be proactive and learn new skills and techniques.
� Students should always ask questions when they don't understand a certain process or work procedure.
� Students should report any problems or harassment directly to their Co-op coordinator
