Important News From The Hawk’s Nest “All of our kids are all of our kids!” Counselor’s Corner with Mrs. Watson Summer Safety Remind your students of safety rules while they are outside having fun this summer. Remind them to wear their helmets when riding their bikes or skateboards, etc. Also make sure to practice water safety with your families; wear life jackets and stay safe when near lakes and rivers. If you need a helmet or lifejacket and are not able to purchase one please contact your local fire department for resources. next school year As we prepare for next school year we have some students moving to dierent schools. Please make sure you have contacted their new school to make sure your children are signed up for the classes they need. This is especially important for middle school as they will be sending out communication over the summer. Wellness Screening Please complete your wellness screening daily! Directions: English Spanish Good Things A Message From Principal Holloman As we near the end of the school year I think more about the well being of our students when they are not in school. Summer is a great time to recreate, spend more time with family and friends, and enjoy activities. I want every Gildo Rey Hawk to have a strong and safe end to the 2020-2021 school year. Mrs. Watson’s Summer Safety tips are important reminders. Other simple things we can all do includes wearing seatbelts, using designated car seats every time we are in a vehicle and using designated crosswalks when crossing the street. Our students have a lot of learning to do finishing up this school year. Attendance matters. School is in session until June 24. Keep an eye out for future communication regarding Kindergarten Graduation and Fifth Grade Promotion. We look forward to celebrating our students as wefinish this school year. Go Hawks! I am excited for this new opportunity to learn and grow as an educator. The past 4 years, serving as your Assistant Principal, have been a blessing and a gift. Gildo Rey is an incredible community. The students are truly the heart of the school. I will miss greeting you at the crosswalk, taking walks through your classrooms, making our morning announcements, and celebrating your success. However, I am confident that you will continue to soar. Keep working hard Hawks! You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and more loved than you know.
