The Sendong Gift Certificate Drive

Over 1000 students in Xavier University lost their school supplies because of Typhoon Sendong. Let us help them get their new supplies.

Move.PH's Social Media for Social Change

A group of journalists – committed to inform Filipinos and inspire them to interact and participate in nation-building by providing a credible, creative, and interactive platform – is introducing a social news

network on January 12, 2012. We are called Rappler.

Page 3: COA Central # 22 - 8 Jan 2012

To celebrate this event, we are partnering with institutions such as the Far Eastern University, Konrad Adenauer Center for Journalism at the Ateneo, Philippine Fulbright Scholars Association, and the Philippine

Association of Communication Educators.

Together we are holding a “chat session” with the theme, “Social Media for Social Change” from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon at the FEU auditorium. This will be the third of our chat series this year, the earlier

successful ones being organized under our citizen journalism arm, Move.PH.

We would like to invite you to be a part of this event, which will feature Veronica Pedrosa, news presenter of Al Jazeera English. She will be joined by Maria Ressa, former CNN Jakarta Bureau Chief and now

RapplerCEO and executive editor. She will speak about social media and Rappler.

Register at http://bit.ly/uAdl2r if you are attending.

Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation's WeCanBeAnything

In our continuing effort to honor the memory of Ninoy and Cory Aquino, the iamninoy-iamcory Movement—a celebration of hope and heroism among the Filipino youth—will continue to explore and open new avenues for modern-day heroes to give of themselves for God and country.

The state of Philippine education today is very alarming that Filipinos have to pull together resources to help the next generation of Filipinos.  The Department of Education (DepEd) estimates the backlog at 66,800 classrooms as of school year 2010-2011. Another factor is the barren environment for learning in many parts of the country due to scarce resources with which to set up libraries and similar facilities

In this light, NCAF and the Apl.de.Ap Foundation (AdAF) are launching the WeCanBeAnything campaign to join in the efforts to alleviate the education situation in the Philippines.  apl.de.ap (a.k.a. Allan Pineda) is leading in the initiatives to raise awareness and funds to build classrooms, libraries, etc.

We encourage your school, faculty and students to own the efforts in addressing the dire state of Philippine education.  We hope that we will be able to share apl’s story to your body, present the facts and eventually, inspire them to do their own part.

Our formations team will gladly meet with you.  Kindly get in touch with them through the following:
