Ruth Bennett - Business and Personal Coach

Coaching

Coaching is all about helping an individual grow and develop in order to reach their desired outcomes. A client brings a situation they are facing where they want to make an improvement and works with the coach to identify a positive way forward.

By using appropriate tools and techniques, the coach asks questions, reflects back and challenges the client to move forward towards their own goals. Coaching is not a magic fix, but is built on the principle that the client is the expert in his or her own life, coaching is about helping them come up with and own their solutions.

About me

As a professional, I've spent most of my working life supporting young people and adults in their learning and development. I'm passionate about encouraging people to move forward in their lives and have found coaching and mentoring in particular to be invaluable tools to enable this.

After years of using coaching within my work, I've now studied it in detail through a Postgraduate certificate in Business and Personal Coaching.

Coaching typically costs around £60 per hour. I'm currently offering to take on new clients at a fraction of the commercial price in order to build up my client base.

With this in mind I am looking for new clients to coach. As I'm both a Business and Personal Coach, the subject matter can be anything at all; work or personally related. All you need to do is to come with the willingness to think through some aspect of your life and an open mind.

The coaching process

The coaching relationship starts with an initial meeting to discuss the purpose of the piece of coaching, to establish whether the coach and client can work together and to agree some practicalities.

Coaching is typically conducted over 3 - 6 sessions, each lasting around 90 minutes. This can be discussed at the initial meeting and adjusted if necessary.

It is important that the coach and client form a good rapport, so both parties need to be comfortable that they can work together and feel able to say if the process or relationship is not working for them.

What next?

If you are interested in exploring coaching, drop me a line. There is no obligation to follow up the process, so why not explore the idea and see where it takes you?
