A quick FL1 primer: LIGHT OUTPUT (listed as lumens) is ameasurement of how much light is being emitted. BEAMDISTANCE measures how far (in meters) a beam projects a usefulamount of light, measured at 0.25 lux (approximately the equiva-lent of light emitted from a full moon “on a clear night in an openeld”). RUN TIME is how long a light will run with fresh batteriesfrom 30 seconds after the light is turned on until the light outputreaches 10% of the initial measurement. Here's an example:

Many of COAST’s lights use a Quick-Cycle tail switch. A tailswitch is a well-known feature in the tactical and professionalmarkets, but not all users may be familiar with the design. Oneof the most common ways to hold a tail-switch light is in one’sst, with one’s thumb to the rear, touching the switch. This allowsthe light to held up-and-away from one’s body, which can provideuseful changes in both beam direction and elevation.

COAST’s tail cap design also allows many of our lights to stand upstraight for vertical lighting applications.
