The Coastal Conservancy was created with a broad mandate and a specific jurisdiction. This structure enables the Conservancy to develop and implement multi-benefit projects tailored to specific regional need to achieve statewide goals.

Coastal Conservancy

The Coastal Conservancy’s jurisdiction includes coastal draining watersheds, the entirety of the nine Bay Area counties, and the Santa Ana River Watershed. The jurisdiction covers about 30% of California’s land area and approximately 75% of the population.
