These packs contain some cereal, milk, spread and other bits and pieces. If you would one to be sent home, please complete attached slip and return by Friday 26 th March. TARGETED LEARNING PROGRAM Based on assessment of student learning and the impacts of COVID and remote learning last year, the Victorian Government has allocated additional funds to all schools, to implement additional targeted small group learning sessions. We will providing these sessions in all classes over the next 6 months, commencing shortly. LAST DAY OF TERM Due to Good Friday falling on the last Friday of the term this year, our last day will be Thursday 1 st April. We will be finishing at 2.00PM The Cobains Primary School Community embraces the values of Respect, Accept and Try Your Best.   • YEAR 5 & 6 MELBOURNE SPACE EXCURSION

    This, Friday 26th March the year 5 and 6 students

    will be heading to Melbourne with Miss Johnston and other senior students from the Rural Schools to at-tend the VSSEC ‘Expedition to Mars’. The drop off and pick up point for this excursion is at The Gippsland Regional Sporting Complex on Cobains Road. Students need to be there by 6.20am where Miss J and Mrs Murphy will meet them. They are expected home at around 7pm so parents should be prepared to be at the GRSC at this time to collect them. If there is going to be a significant delay in the return time, a text will be sent to all parents before hand.

    CONCEPT STUDY

    CLUSTER EXCURSION

    As part of the Rural Cluster concept theme of Cooperation and Competition, there will be a whole school excursion to Wurruk PS on Wednesday 31st March to participate in Obstacool- an inflatable ‘It’s a Knockout style obstacle course. Green permission note attached Permission note is attached to this newsletter

    SWIMMING IN TERM TWO

    We have locked in dates for our term 2 swimming program. The sessions will be from

    2pm-2.40pm every Wednesday n term 2

    except Naplan week (12th May)

    at Aqua Energy Sale, in the indoor pool complex.

    Travel in by Bus Parents will need to collect their

    students from the pool after swimming, at approximately 3pm.

    If your child is a bus traveller and needs to be picked up from the school, please let us know and we will make arrangements for this. There is a cost for swimming and a note will come home shortly as we are waiting for confirmation that we have received Sporting Schools funding.

    WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECKS If you would like to be involved with helping out at school, it is a legal requirement that you hold at least a volunteer Working With Children Check. This is free and can be applied for online. There is no need to have a professional photo taken. Take a photo of your self with a plain background to attach when asked. You will be asked who you want send it to, make sure you put Cobains Primary School so a copy is sent to us and if you assist at another organisation put their name in as well. If you have a WWCC that has been renewed recently please check if we have a copy and if not we will make a copy for our file as they have to be School Council approved.

  • BBJFNC major fundraiser event – GET YOUR TICKETS NOW

    Friday 9th April – commences 6pm, concludes 9:30pm

    The junior football club are lucky to be hosting Amber Lawrance and Catherine Britt and their “Love & Lies” tour on

    Friday 9th April 2021 at the Briagolong Recreation Reserve.

    Both artists are multi golden guitar award winners and Amber and Catherine are helping the Boisdale Briagolong

    Junior Football Club raise some much needed funds for a football scoreboard, as theirs has dissapeared from the

    grounds within the past couple of years.

    This is will be a great Community event and is open to all ages with a great discount available for a family ticket.

    Special VIP tickets are available which include your concert ticket, a meet and greet with Amber and Catherine

    before the show, photo opportunity and hear a few songs played acoustically.
