IMPORTANT WARNING

The Cobra 7928/26/HF Alarm Immobiliseris a Category 1 MIRRC Thatcham listedsecurity system. If the installation of thisproduct is modified or altered from thestandard specifications, or non compliantaccessories are fitted, the insuranceapproval will be invalidated.

Your Cobra Dealer will be pleased to clarifyany queries you may have with the systemor its operation.Even when using your Cobra 7928/26/HFAlarm System we would suggest thefollowing additional precautions:-l Avoid leaving valuable belongings in

the car particularly if they are on view.l Never leave Registration or Insurance

Documents in the car.l Never leave spare keys in the car.l Always try to park in a well lit and safe

area.

Each Cobra 7928/26/HF Alarm System hasa unique PIN code which can be used forEmergency Disarm and is required,together with one of the emergencyoverride touch keys, for programmingreplacement or additional radio keys.Your PIN code is given on the cardsupplied with your Cobra 7928/26/HFAlarm System together with the serialnumber of the system itself. Please keepthis card in a secure place - not in the car -and also make a note of these numbers forany second driver�s use.Without the PIN code and emergencyoverride touch key no additional orreplacement radio keys can beprogrammed into the system.

PIN Code

Congratulations on purchasing a Cobra7928/26/HF Alarm System. It has beendesigned and manufactured to the higheststandards utilising the latest S.M.D.technology for total reliability.All round protection is ensured with:-1. Passenger compartment protection

using ultrasonic sensors (7928) orhyperfrequency radar sensors(7928HF).

2. Multi-circuit engine immobilisation -operates immediately the system isarmed, or passively 60 seconds afterignition is switched OFF and the driver'sdoor opened, or 255 seconds afterignition OFF if the doors are notopened.

3. Peripheral protection to doors, bootand bonnet using direct contactswitches.

4. Personal protection - remote control�panic' button on radio keys.

Many of the security functions areintegrated with your vehicle's electricalsystem and we recommend that you readthe complete instruction booklet to ensuretrouble free operation.Also for your added safety, each systemcontains circuitry to ensure the alarmcannot be switched on when the vehicle'sengine is running.

Radio Key Function

Radio KeysThe security system is operated by remote control radio keys. Two radio keys aresupplied with each Cobra 7928/26/HF Alarm System. Always press the button for a fullONE SECOND to allow the whole code to be transmitted. The small LED on the radio keywill flash whilst the button is held down. The Radio Keys should normally operate up to3 metres from the car but range can be affected by other radio signals in the vicinity.

Low Radio KeyBatteryIndicationIf the small LED on the radiokey flashes irregularly or onlyonce when the operating keyis pressed, instead of flashingcontinuously, this indicates a lowbattery.

Battery Replacement1. Open the case as shown in the

diagram - levering the two sidesapart in the area marked OPEN onthe key case.

2. Remove the old battery as shown.

Radio KeyThe Radio Keys are powered by a long life 3v Lithium battery(type CR2032 or equivalent). With normal usage a new batteryshould last between 3 and 5 years. Replacement batteries canbe obtained from your Cobra Dealer.

3. Wait for 10 seconds before inserting thenew battery, ensuring the correct polarity(+ sign upwards) and holding the battery bythe edge.

4. Close the case firmly making sure locatingstuds are correctly positioned to ensure awaterproof seal is made.

5. The remote key should now operatenormally, but it may require re-synchronisation with the main control unit.

Testing the Remote Key & Re-synchronisation

If, at any time, the remote key does not operate the system, stand close to the car andpress and hold down both buttons until the LED on the remote key goes out -approximately 10 seconds. Release both buttons - the LED will come on constantly. Thenpress button �A' for approximately 1 second - the LED will flash - this should complete re-synchronisation.

In case of difficulties please consult your Cobra Dealer.

Passive Immobilisation Additional/ReplacementRadio Keys

Arming the System

The System will automatically arm thedouble immobilisation 60 seconds afterthe ignition is switched OFF and thedriver's door is opened. If the doors arenot opened the delay is extended to 255seconds after the ignition is switched OFF.l The LED will flash.

It will not now be possible to start theengine, but in this instance the doors willnot lock and the windows etc. will notclose. The door trigger circuits and interiorsensor do not arm.DRIVING THE VEHICLETo start the engine, ensure the ignition isswitched OFF then disarm the immobiliserby pressing button �A� on the radio key andthen switch ON the engine within 255seconds.To fully arm the system after passiveimmobilisation, switch OFF the passivearming by pressing button �A� on the radiokey, then re-arm the system (as describedin �Arming the System�).

The emergency override touch key can beused to disarm/ de-immobilise your Cobra7928/26/HF Alarm System in the event oflost or damaged radio keys. If your car islocked use your door key to enter the carand touch the Emergency Override TouchKey on the contacts of the touch receptacle- this will disarm and de-immobilise thesecurity system. If the system was fully�armed' the siren will sound untildisarming has taken place. The car canthen be started in the normal way.l Up to four Emergency Override Touch

Keys can be programmed into eachCobra 7928/26/HF Alarm System.

The radio keys for your Cobra 7928/26/HFAlarm System have a �protected self-learning' feature which allows up to fourRadio Keys to be programmed into yoursystem by using its unique PIN code inconjunction with the electronic touch keys.

All existing radio keys and touch keysmust be re-programmed at the same timeas any additional or replacement keys arebeing introduced to the system. YourCobra Dealer will be able to carry out thisprocedure for you.

Radio Key - pressing the operating button�A' will arm the system, indicated by:-

1. Two flashes of the vehicle's hazardlights.

2. Continuous flashing of the LEDwarning light.

3. Simultaneous locking of all doors.

l Immediately the alarm unit is switchedON (�armed') the vehicle isimmobilised.

After switching ON (�armed') a period ofapproximately 45 seconds will elapsebefore the system is fully active. (This is a�setting-up' and �test period').

When the alarm is fully active it will betriggered by:-

1. Opening a door, boot or bonnet (DirectContact Switches).

2. Movement within the vehicle(Ultrasonic).

When triggered the Electronic Siren willsound at 118dB and the hazard lights willflash for 30 seconds - at the end of this

period the system will close down andautomatically re-set to provide protectionagainst a further attempt by an intruder toenter the vehicle.

On return to the vehicle, pressingoperating button �A' on the radio key willdisarm the system. This is indicated by:-

1. One flash of the hazard warning lights.

Note: If the system has been triggeredduring your absence the hazard lights willflash 4 times and the buzzer will sound 4times.

2. Extinguishing of the LED warning light- see note.

3. Unlocking of all doors.Note: If the alarm has been triggered inyour absence a �status history' will bedisplayed by the LED warning light and isindicated as follows:-

Single pulse flashing of LED: Onealarm state caused by opening of theboot, bonnet or doors.Twin pulse flashing of LED: Onealarm state triggered by accessoryhyperfrequency radar sensors(7928HF).Triple pulse flashing of LED: Alarmstate triggered by the ultrasonicsensor or optional glass break (7928).Quadruple flash repeated regularly:Alarm state caused by an attempt tostart the car.

Note: This display can also show multipletriggering and other system diagnostics -please consult your Cobra dealer in case ofany difficulties.This display is extinguished when theignition is turned on.

Pressing button �A' whilst the siren issounding will turn the siren off. The AlarmSystem �status' - i.e. �armed' - will not bechanged.

Pressing the auxiliary button �B' will soundthe siren for 10 seconds when the alarmsystem is in the �armed' state.

Note: This function will not be operationalduring the 40 seconds set-up timerequired for the system to become fullyactive after it has been �armed'.

Ultrasonic Sensor (7928):

To arm the system without utilising theUltrasonic interior sensor, press theoperating button �A' in the normal waythen, within 20 seconds, press theauxiliary button �B'. This allows all otherprotection circuits to remain active whilstwindows can be left partially open (for adog inside the vehicle etc.). This commandis indicated by a �beep' from the siren.

On disarm the system will switch ON thecourtesy light for 30 seconds, or until theignition is switched ON.

Checking the AlarmSystem

Trouble ShootingYour Cobra 7928/26/HF Alarm Systemshould have been installed by a fullytrained technician. In the unlikely event ofa problem occurring with it please contactyour supplying/installing Cobra Dealer forassistance. If this is not immediatelypossible the following notes may be ofhelp:-Symptom: Radio Key will not �arm' or

�disarm' system.l The Radio Key battery may be flat (see

notes on Low Battery Indication andChanging Battery).

Symptom: The radio key may requirere-synchronisation.

l See Testing the Remote Key and Re-synchronisation section.

Symptom: Alarm has triggered for noapparent reason.

l When you �disarm' the alarm thediagnostics code will be displayed bythe LED warning light. If direct contacttriggering is indicated then switches indoors, boot or bonnet may needadjusting - please consult your Dealer.If showing Ultrasonic triggering pleasecheck that all windows, sunroof and airvents are closed and ensure that thereare no loose moving objects (oranimals) left in the vehicle. If theproblem persists contact your CobraDealer for assistance.

You should check your Cobra 7928/26/HFAlarm System on a regular basis - once aweek is recommended.

1. Direct Contact Check: Arm the systemand exclude the ultrasonic sensors -wait 45 seconds.

l Opening any of the vehicle doors, bootor bonnet will trigger the system andthe siren will sound. Disarm the systemfrom the radio key and repeat theprocess for each door, boot andbonnet.

2. Ultrasonic Sensor (7928) /Hyperfrequency Radar Sensor(7928HF) Check:Whilst remaining seated in the car withdoors and windows closed - Arm thesystem and wait 45 seconds.

l Rapid movement of your arms shouldtrigger the system. Disarm in thenormal way.

If at any time your alarm does not appearto be operating correctly please refer to the�Trouble Shooting' section or, if in anydoubt, contact your supplying/installingCobra Dealer.
