Make-up links to genre of soap; Scripted reality

– Extreme, heavy make-up, Social realism –

natural make-up.

Lighting reflects the mood of the soap

Conflict

Regional locations – stereotypes of the place

Different camera shots – close ups, two shots,

establishing

Heavy and glamorous make up

Camera shots – a lot of close ups

Artificial lighting – to show fakeness of soap

Glamorous clothes – fake tan, big bags, big hair,

heels etc.

Made up language – Reem (TOWIE), Boyyo (Made

in Chelsea)

Over the top acting and actions

Drama filled storylines

Used to promote the soap, programme, film

Contains a related background track – usually

written for the trailer

Varies in length – typically around 45seconds

Usually only show a teaser but some do give

away a lot of the storyline

Beats of music match edits

Always show title cards with date of release,

name and usually the brand sponsoring it.
